  1. Wow being a diabetic is a whole new ballgame. My sister has been one for yrs & I thought when she would "crash" it was some drama queen BS but now I know its not. Been feeling crappy for like 3 yrs but the dr. finally nailed it last fall & within this past month my numbers are getting alot better & wow having good numbers makes you want to exercise & eat right NOT just to lose weight but to not feel so "bitchey" which I'm so happy not being lately. But I'm open to getting advice from those who also have this, alot of what I know I get from online especially on You Tube-they have videos showing you how to test etc. Thanks guys for the help. :king:
  2. Whatever guys-if you feel BETTER for saying what you did to me then pat yourself on the back ok????  :dash2: :dash2: Sure a quitter just needs to stop smoking & embrace NOPE or whatever "does it" for you. BUT NOT everyone "gets it" from day 1 or like you Bakon a million times of "trying"  Education,Willpower or having the balls to quit comes to people when they are FED UP with attempts at QUITTING or snarky posts meant to get them to see their quit thru "their/yours" eyes-is that clear & plain spoken enough??? :king: :king: :king: Also just because I'm almost at 2 1/2 yrs free doesn't imply I'm a expert on quitting other THEN MY OWN .
  3. Sorry you felt the need to see what would happen if you smoked-NOW you know and you realize NOT to do it again right?
  4. Finale is friday. :D
  5. Theirs work & theirs work. Maybe snarkiness worked wonders for you or maybe because you're past a yr you feel that you earned the right to post like you do. But NOT everyone responds to a kick in the @ss approach. :dash2: :dash2: :dash2: :dash2: Yes for some (like me) I decided to prove to all those tough love people that I could & did quit BUT everyone has to find their own path to freedom.
  6. Wow some of these post remind me ANOTHER QUIT SITE......................................  Yes to some of you this person is trying your patience-BUT really, basically telling someone to S H I T or get off the pot doesn't work on some strugglers. :dash1:
  7. Sorry you're having alot of struggles, I really believe that women see their cigs as their only true friend BUT you got to kill that idea before you end up a dead smoker. I sent you a PM with some things that helped me. I know YOU DO want to quit otherwise you wouldn't be hear hoping for gem of truth to help you. Not everyone has an easy quit but to me those who struggle have a stronger quit cause they had to work their ass off to get cig free. For alot of us HALT & NOPE can be the mantras that can keep you cig free. Cause its true unless you can figure out why you really want freedom you will struggle . I had to finally accept that as much as "i loved smoking" it would kill me so then I debated do I want 3 inches of burning paper running my life or will I take that leap of faith & believe their is life w/o cigs & their is & its sweet.
  8. Good going 1 more month which will fly by & you'd done it-stayed cig free for a yr.
  9. Trust me you don't want to live this way-quit for a short time then start to feel good or "in control" then smoke & realize you gave away a good thing you had going for you. Its so hard for those "really free" to explain to those struggling that if you would ONLY stay quit & get use to it how much you would love this new way of life-but each of us has to walk this poth & find out on our own. Sorry I can't help more.
  10. Some good & some bad-wait & see.
  11. Sorry doesn't say enough. It sucks that BAD people rip off hard working joes just cause they "have computer skills". Glad they didn't put you in the poor house. Congrats for monday.
  12. Yes I love TWD but got hooked on 24 when listening to that BOB & TOM show when season 3 was going I figured if those clowns liked it I'd check it out. Trish-is that like the "damn it" game where everytime Jack says that you drink a shot or whatever-no but would love to. Becca-I live in northern michigan by the Mio settlement, I've seen the Holmes county on that funny Amish Mafia show.
  13. Do you want a roommate???? I so love the woods.    Mr Rolleyeye & I will live in your basement haha.
  14. No Trish I'm the only Queen here
  15. Sorry you're finding quitting a hard thing to adjust too. I resented having to quit & it made me releapse ALOT & have a pisspoor attitude. Sure I'd quit start to feel better & lite up & find out with being free that smoking isn't as "much fun" as it use to be,then I'd feel bad about blowing another quit & sometimes would wonder "why try" & thats the KEY-as long as you allow yourself an out the junkie in you will jump on it. I wish for every new quitter I could wave a magic wand & make this first yr a painless & fun time BUT without the struggles & temptations your mind will screw with you that you didn't "earn" your quit. Plus I truly believe that those that struggle have a more solid quit after a yr cause all the back & forth makes you stronger in getting & staying free . Plus use HALT & NOPE as your mantras when nicodemon comes knocking.
  16. I'll have to check it out-I wondered how different it would be.
  17. Yes springtime flowers are blooming, & bushes have baby leaves & the grass is sooooooooooooo green. Its so nice to see NO snow & have temps above 30 degrees. Plus walking home listening to the birdies is nice. As to TWD I have never read the comic books but am tempted. :D :D
  18. I haven't seen it, I hope its on the Fox grid soon.
  19. I can't wait till August & season 4 is for sale. Till then I have the first 3 seasons to watch & ALL 8 seasons of 24 to keep me busy. Looking for a Jack Bauer poster to go with my Daryl,Rick & bicycle girl posters.
  20. You ALWAYS believed in me that I would find my quit & I did & LOOK at you 5 yrs of cig freedom. For sure now with this much time free you truly do feel like a nonsmoker. Big congrats my sister/best friend in the world.    Because of YOU ALOT of people kept climbing that rope to freedom. Be proud knowing you saved alot of people from an early death.
  21. As much as I love the walking dead-I love 24 more. No I didn't blush over the french kiss question.
  22. Wow for dinner-a roast with gravy & mashed potatoes. About the only things I hate to eat are liver, peas & green beans. I love vension & chicken. Would like to learn how to cook fresh fish.
  23. I'm a janitor & basically love my job, if my boss would give me a raise after a 4 yr paycut that would be sweet. Yes I would love to see England, at least with movies I can get general ideas about places. Favorite song besides Beth by Kiss, I don't know. I use to drink coffee & miss it & I have never really tried tea. Yes I liked school, no I don't trust many people which is sad but a safe way to live. After a hard day I love watching movies or old tv series. Is their anyone I'm "hot" for no not really. Thanks for asking me stuff. But yeah going to Ireland would be nice.
  24. No I have never been to New York, someday I also would like to go to Chicago cause thats maybe 6 hrs or so away. I have a sister 2 yrs younger & 1 brother 4 yrs older. No other kids just the one.
  25. Told him how rude he was & by asking me if I "rag" everywhere about their site why would I want to belong & basically implied I cause way to much for their overworked mods & if THEY decide to take me back I'd be under their thumb & would have to kiss @ss etc so I told him where he could go. Babs I love that green one-way to pretty.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
