  1. Hi Charlie, Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing about your quit. You've quite the strong quit going! :) This shows that there is a prize that awaits each one of us. :victory:
  2. When I was working dayshift, I would get up between 3 & 4 am to start drinking coffee and smoking. I treated it like it was my own personal happy hour. Thought I was really enjoying and making the most out of my quiet mornings but now I see all I was doing was mucking up my perfectly brewed cup of coffee. Man I'm glad I don't smoke anymore.
  3. Yes, I have like 6 giveaways per year. Thank you, Ava. :download:
  4. I tore my remaining cigarettes into shreds but kept my empty pack and wrote the date and time on it that I quit and put it on a shelf in the living room. That guy smoking those old nasty cigarettes shows how much we were slaves to nicotine. Anything for that fix.
  5. I love my cat but he gets away with murder in this house. He talks back all the time, never cleans up after himself and he thinks he knows when I've slept long enough and wakes me up. But, he's a good "mouser" so I look over his few faults. :)
  6. Great job, Brittany! The hardest part is done. No looking back as you're now a non-smoker and we don't put things in between our lips and set them ablaze. Glad to have you here and you can't post too often. :)
  7. Okay. I'll check into it a bit later and see what the limits are. :)
  8. How many recipients did you have in mind? I believe there is a limit but it's more than 5.
  9. Somebody who is super funny.
  10. It can't hurt. I thought it was a joke until I did it to remove a craving one evening. Had this massive crave to smoke early in my quit and by the time I gathered two toads, I forgot about smoking. Still have the toads just in case they're needed in a pinch.
  11. That's awesome, Queen!!! Just for you!
  12. Getting rid of goat smell is fairly easy. 1. Gather 2 toads, a clove of garlic and go into the cemetery at midnight during a crescent moon. 2. Take one toad, rub on head, set down and let it hop away. 3. The 2nd toad - set it on a tree stump and pet it three times and count to 50. It must hop off the tree stump and start hopping due west. If it doesn't, start over. If it does, continue to step 4. 4. While facing the moon, toss the clove of garlic over the left shoulder. This works on removing warts too.
  13. Well, you've made it an hour so there is your first milestone! :)
  14. Sometimes minute by minute but the good news is that is gets much easier with each milestone. Early on your milestone may be one hour, then one day, then one week and then before you know it, you're approaching your 1st year smoke-free anniversary. Are you aware of all of the chemicals in each cigarette?
  15. I'm originally from the Cleveland as well. Ravens & Orioles fan here. Gave up on Cleveland a long time ago.
  16. Oh and yeah, love "The Walking Dead". We have entire thread dedicated to it. Did you see season 4? Devil Doll and Queen Greenlover are Dead junkies.
  17. Yeah right, not buying it. I have 3 kids. I know what spilled milk on a shirt looks like. What did you do, wipe the milk from your chin right before you took the pic? (you said you like sarcasm, so do I) :)
  18. Brittany, You're avatar - you have something white dripping on your shirt. Did you walk under the wrong bird? What is it? Milk?
  19. One that gets tossed around quite a bit. wanker = a jokester
  20. Here's one I bet nobody knew about. whilst = while :)
  21. Your PC probably is goofing up but not in the case. lol This is the 2nd idea for a new forum for you. First you suggested the Off The Record and now this one. You're the idea lady. :scratch_one-s_head:
  22. Welcome, Mason! You can definitely do this and even enjoy the process of quitting. There are other members here who have quit with spouses or significant others that still smoke. No matter what, you can quit. Even a knucklehead like me can quit so that proves that anybody can do it. If there are any issues that you're struggling with or nervous about anything, post it so we can work through it with you. Most things are not as bad as we make them out to be and quitting smoking is definitely one of them. Thanks for joining and make yourself at home. There are lots of cool features to the forum that you're free to use anytime that you want. :)
  23. Congrats to you and your husband on one of the best decisions that you could ever make. There is no hope needed to quit smoking. All you have to do is live by N.O.P.E. (not one puff ever) and learn about this horrible, deadly addiction. Lots of good info and videos pinned to the top of the Quit Smoking forum. Stay close, post often and if you think you may cave and smoke, please post and S.O.S. in the S.O.S. forum and wait just a minute or two and somebody be there to help. Myself, all the moderators and many members get alerts whenever a new thread is made in the S.O.S. forum and most go directly to our phones via email. Thanks for joining our forum!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
