  1. Congrats, Robert!

  3. Well done, Marti!!
  4. Congrats, Andrew!! Great job!
  5. There will never be another even close to Cash. I actually cried when he died. That man's music and unmistakable voice has seen me through some of my worst times and been with me through the best of times. He's country. Willie, Waylon, Kris are all country. The group they formed can never be duplicated. "The Highway Men"...what can I say? I'm glad this larger than life talent came together and made this music. The country music of today is more like pop music because they gave up their humble beginnings starting with the Carter family to become more mainstream. What they failed to foresee is that had they remained true to their roots, they would be mainstream today and not having to compete with the flavor of the week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyyTO-vU6i0
  6. "I only smoke when I drink." lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds03wc6PjIk
  7. You taught me how to stay quit, you saved my ass from smoking on more than one occasion and you taught me to look after myself so I can better look after those who need me. The time you spend helping others in your spare time most don't even know about because you rarely mention it. You'll drop everything to help somebody, friend or foe. That, my friend, is something that can't be said for everybody. Congratulations, Babs. You called London! :dirol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfK-WX2pa8c
  8. Don't ever give up!! Can you say what lead up to smoking again? Glad to see that you're back to quitting again so quickly. Too many times when somebody fails to quit it's not until 10 or more years down the road until they try again.
  9. Happy birthday, Jimmy!
  10. Very happy for you, Beth!! This calls for the mother of the rolly eyes.
  11. Congrats, Action!!!
  12. I can read both just fine with my phone.
  13. Being active here helps me in many ways.
  14. Don't cry, Colleen, smile. In all of my years, despite being heckled by family, even my young kids, I refuse to change when it comes to wearing socks with flip flops. Once you jam your toes into the tongue of the flop, they stay in place very well and you can walk the shops in old downtown or even hit the mall. Some people look but it's only out of envy because they know it's comfortable (everybody has done this at home) and wish they could wear the same in public. Colleen, you know you've at least tried this at home and if not, give it a try. Don't be concerned about how it looks at first, focus on comfort and then try them out when you go shopping. You'll be hooked just like the rest of us who get labeled and mocked for wearing socks with flops. :)
  15. I thought a cooter meant something else. Yeah, those cooters are dirty. I would never wear dirty socks with my sandals as I have far too much pride when in public to wear dirty socks like the dude in the pic.
  16. This is how.
  17. Socks and flip flops, not sandals. Look, when I'm at home I like my bare feet to breathe and if I have to go into town to pick up a chain for the ripsaw, killer for the weed or some shells for the 12, I simply put some stockings on my feet, sleep my feet into my flip flops and go about my business. The Maryland socks rock. I don't pull them up at high as they'll stretch and leave them sag a little, just for fahsion's sake. I wear flip flops, these same ones to be exact.
  18. I think a 6 oz sirloin would take care of all of it. Forget the 3g of carbs and call it a day. It's morning now so I guess it doesn't matter. Lol
  19. Rachael, she just disappeared all of a sudden. I remember she was talking about going on a date with some guy and the poof. I hope she's just gotten bitten by the love bug and is okay.
  20. What an inspiring post, Beacon. This freedom is available to every smoker out there and awaits those who've quit and still yearn for it.
  21. Woots!! October 21st. Will be the first in line to get my hardback first edition to go with the rest of my 1st edition collection of his books. http://www.jgrisham.com/ Somebody give me a woots or at least a fist bump! :) The Great Recession of 2008 left many young professionals out of work. Promising careers were suddenly ended as banks, hedge funds, and law firms engaged in mass lay-offs and brutal belt tightening. Samantha Kofer was a third year associate at Scully & Pershing, New York City’s largest law firm. Two weeks after Lehman Brothers collapsed, she lost her job, her security, and her future. A week later she was working as an unpaid intern in a legal aid clinic deep in small town Appalachia. There, for the first time in her career, she was confronted with real clients with real problems. She also stumbled across secrets that should have remained buried deep in the mountains forever.
  22. Thanks for the update! Man I love that series. Especially glad it's slated for many more seasons.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
