  1. That's a good thing, Jimmy. I never want to read that you've honed your pole dancing skills. lol :)
  2. I've never seen it but now I want to but don't have HBO.
  3. Congrats, CS! Your gardens should be coming along so far?
  4. There really isn't a place for smokers anymore. They're segregated from the rest of society. They have special areas they have to linger at to smoke. Have to carry their collective asses outside to smoke in all kinds of weather, and they look forward to this "break". Society is voting them out of buildings, restaurants and even bars. What's to come in 30 years? Imagine an island where all smokers will be sent. Imagine the smell. The faces. The disease. The death. I wonder if the trees would survive? Would all of the animals leave and the ones which stayed be condemned to the same life sentence? All smokers will be sent to smoking colonies where their addiction can no longer affect the rest of society.
  5. Tell him to take the Lotus back that he borrowed to impress you, put away his 7th grade science project (his homemade vaping machine) and go back home and deal with the issues in his marriage. On second thought, he's not even worth the effort. Be thankful you're not his wife. Hope you had a nice visit with your Mom and are feeling better.
  6. Welcome, Yogi!! Thanks for joining us. Congrats on your quit - we're within one month of each other. :)
  7. Did you try rebooting your machine?
  8. Glad to hear you made it through!
  9. Very nice truck! Name it Raven.
  10. Which truck did you get?
  11. Good to see you! Just figured you got lost in a casino or something. :)
  12. Nancy, one meal is not going to do that. If you see any weight a day or two after a meal, it's from water retention and high sodium from the meal.
  13. Good days, bad days. We all have them. If it wasn't for days rated as a 15, we wouldn't enjoy the 2&3 days as much. :) Very proud of you.
  14. NOPE. I will not be smoking today under any circumstances. Smoking solves nothing, is no freaking reward for a job well done and it besides, it looks so stupid.
  15. Some of the stuff that I read from members here sticks with me and makes me chuckle still long after I've read it. Can be from any thread but it has to have some kind of humor to it, banter between two members etc. My first entry is Paul's reply to me on The Coke Machine Game the other day. MQ: I insert an old fence post. Paul723: And you get an 85 year old pole dancer who is willing to give it a go to restart her career but MQ is afraid of scaring the children and the dog so he gives her a cup of coffee and drives her back to the assisted care facility. lol
  16. Great job and great attitude, Susana! You must not leave this board for any unreasonable length of time. Reading your accomplishments and honesty in your writing is very helpful. Can't wait to see what happens next for you, the new you. :) Keep on kickin' ass and taking names.
  17. You get a basketball court to bounce it on. I insert a box of 10 penny nails.
  18. Wait until you get my age. lol The more active you become, the more your metabolism speeds up. Your body is also using/needing more calories due to the increase in activity. To answer your question, it's probably a combination of both. At first the weight can come off easy but be prepared to hit a plateau. Once you start losing weight, your metabolism will temporarily go into survival mode and slow down until it gets used to the new normal and will speed back up. Keep going and don't stop. If you're seeing that much weight loss in 5 days it's water weight from eating better, less sodium retention etc. A healthy goal is to lose 2 lbs of fat per week. Not muscle, fat. Feed your body well. You'll burn more calories to retain muscle so the more of it you build or retain is going to pay huge dividends in weight loss (fat loss). What are you doing for exercise? I think I saw that you were doing a 30 day shred? Is that the Jillian Michaels program?
  19. :acute: Right there. Sweet, glorious freedom. It's really something how smoking affected us in so many layers of who we are.
  20. You're awesome, Tiffany. You keep holding on to us because we're not letting go. 36 days is awesome!!!

  22. Oh hell yes.
  23. Bob Dylan is in my top three of all time. Huck's Tune is one of my faves http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcYpESn8Ako And this is my anthem for the assholes of the world. "Positively 4th Street" by Dylan. This is Simply Red covering it. Only one I could find with the lyrics. I have Simply Red's version of this song and others they're great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGdI1vO9T5A

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
