  1. Maybe at some point she'll open the door to a conversation about smoking and you can share with her your story. These are always touchy situations because if she's not the least bit receptive, it could close the door on any future conversations but then again, it might not. How well do you know her?
  2. If you smoke a cigar and even if you don't inhale, you've relapsed. This is my opinion. What is yours? Note: Please, no ecig discussions regarding this. :) Cigars and Relapsing Video discusses how the only successful quits is the current quit and it will only stay successful as long as you continue to stick to your personal commitment to never take another puff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNfzs-97ztU Related videos: The lucky ones get hooked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8XvSi... 3. I'm later. NOPE!
  4. The most obvious thing that comes to mind is I don't have that constant looming feeling that I've done something wrong. I knew I shouldn't have been smoking but continued anyway just like the typical nicotine junkie. Yesterday is gone so today I'm content. I wish I could go back in time and not ever smoked but what's the point of even pondering that nonsense? What's done is done and from here on out, I only feel good about my decision keep nicotine as far away from me as I can.
  5. After quitting smoking, is there such a thing as the "quitters flu"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU3Y5le6SV4 Many Internet sites talk about a condition called the "quitters flu" This video discusses how in the first few days after quitting a person may experience symptoms that seem flu like, but how they are really different than actual infections and the importance of not writing off these symptoms once past the first few days of a quit. 6. I sent my video to Ava for editing 2 months ago but I'm starting to think she doesn't know the first thing about editing videos. Who knows what she's done with it. Probably something to bring me down, man. She's gonna bring me down to Chinatown.
  7. Evelyn, I read your post when it was first sent to my phone while at work and I've been thinking about you off and on all day. I remembered how you were when you first came here and as I read your post again after work, I marveled at how far you've come. You're much stronger than I think you even realize. Despite your memories and all other the things that you have to deal with, you could have taken the easy way out and just smoked and never quit. You kept at it despite the setbacks and now you're beating this addiction and not letting it run your life. You're a success story and it's amazing to watch it because you don't get to see this everyday. You just keep on digging your heals in because I am beyond impressed and proud of who you are. :)
  8. I couldn't agree more with every word! "We live fast because time won't last". Gotta enjoy the ride and quitting smoking has made life a helluva lot more fun than when I was smoking.
  9. Best damn TV series since Andy Griffith and Northern Exposure.

  12. I made the change, all should be well now.
  13. I can make a change, but it will log everyone out...
  14. It will be very interesting and encouraging to newbies as well as oldies how quitting smoking has had unexpected benefits in our lives.

  21. Great find, Colleen! That is some nasty, nasty shizzle!
  22. I went to Barnes & Noble today and bought her book that she was giving her presentation about. Thanks again, Frez. My new book on my centuries old table. :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
