  2. Oh really? You have any idea what you just said? Now you must learn the NTAP Shuffle. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn8_bWeZRVU
  3. Rob, We're here to help but you haven't let any of us down, only yourself. You've woken the addiction back up and if I were you, I would quit right now. Don't wake up and smoke. Make today your new quit date. The point of quitting is to break the addiction which by the way comes with all sorts of nasty diseases. The point of quitting is to free yourself from the chains of this deadly addiction and to save your life. Don't ever give up fighting for your life and that's the battle you're in right now.

  5. Sad news. Be watching for William Shatner to say a few things. They were very close and the videos that I've seen of them two going back and forth are pretty funny. RIP and hope you no longer have "troubles with truffles". :)
  6. Breaking Bad. Trust me, woman.
  7. Not yet. The forum will be down for a short time during the transfer. :) Once I get everything coordinated I'll update everybody.
  8. lol Ponderosa? They're still around?
  9. Welcome, Leila. So glad you found us! You're in the right place to make this quit last forever. What's on the other side of withdrawal? Freedom. What Is Withdrawal Really Like? This video discusses how withdrawal reaction can vary for people, but generally will not be as bad as most anticipate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbEoMEpmMX4&index=7&list=PLCDB8BA311D538113 The Fear Of Failure This video explains how many people are fearful of even attempting a quit because they are convinced that it is impossible for them to succeed. The attached videos examine the reasons for this fear and will help to illustrate that smokers can quit if they understand the addiction they are fighting and how to take control of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_64RhiVj9Y&list=PLCDB8BA311D538113&index=8 The Fear Of Success This video explains how many people are fearful of attempting a quit because they realize that they may actually succeed. The attached videos examine the reasons for this fear and will help smokers to understand that the fears they have of their lives being ruined are based on the false assumption that cigarettes were helping them to live as opposed to recognizing that smoking was ruining their lives in many ways. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHhWSOsWoBE&list=PLCDB8BA311D538113&index=9 The Fear Of Relapsing Video explains how many people are fearful of even attempting a quit because they are convinced that even if by some miracle they succeed, they will likely lose the quit at some future point in time. This video explains why they may have this fear and what resources we have to deal with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoWuSG8W_2E
  10. The forum will be down for a brief period so please don't be alarmed. We've had a server built for us and will be transferring QuitTrain over to it. :)
  11. When I first quit my doctor put me on Wellbutrin XL to help but the dreams, man they were something out of Hollywood. So vivid, colorful, real and bizarre. I'm sure it was from the meds, but still, some of the dreams just creeped me out. :)
  12. Neither of my parents smoked. Most of my uncles and maternal grandmother smoked heavily.
  13. Breaking Bad.
  14. Hang on! You're in for a wild ride!
  15. The only thing that I use for outdoors bugs and ticks is Cedarcide. Makes the dogs smell good too. :)
  16. Proplan is okay. Used to feed my GSD's that all the time. In fact, I would buy it by the pallet to get the best price. Both GSD's died early but I suspect vaccinations as the cause. I was talking to a veterinarian from Cornell University one day and he told me about the vaccinations. My Chessie get's titers taken and is exempt from getting any rabies bullshit shot. :) Rabies shots are okay but last 6,7 years. Get titers taken and they tell you exactly what your dogs need and what they don't.
  17. Here we go again. If you'd ever listen to me you'd never have to feel like you're doing without "your little treats". I've eaten 5 chicken breasts today, tons of green beans and broccoli. Also had a little bag of Chex Mix. And Coffee. I don't think I could fast. I'd get too hungry.
  18. Fromm. It's the only thing my dogs eat. Never, ever a recall. Check them out. Can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I've been buying the 4 star. http://frommfamily.com/ When you switch to a quality dry food like this, you will see a difference in your dog. I always pre-soak the food in water before feeding them. I mix in some Bronson rvitamin C and Nupro Joint & ImmunityPowder. FYI, when I met my wife she was feeding her dog Beneful. He was lazy, could barely walk, rarely barked and looked like he was going to die any day. He is now on Fromm and will be 16 years old this year! He is now a pain in my ass and won't shut up. If he gets loose, we find him miles away. This dog gone from a comatose state to non-stop pain in the ass. This is a good thing and shows the difference that quality food makes. He's old. You can tell that his hips bother him. He has Lyme's Disease. He's going to be 16 and is a medium sized mutt. He is healthier now than he was 10 years ago. My Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a ******* beast. He is solid muscle and perfect. His treats are carrots, green beans and broccoli. I wouldn't feed him anything but a quality kibble. If I had the time, I would cook his food for him each day (really the best way, or a raw diet) but I just don't have the time for that. The next best thing is quality food like Fromm.
  19. "I am making this video response due to popular request as well as Quest Nutrition themselves who inquired with me asking what I thought of the video. I gave them my honest feedback and they encouraged me to make a video. I respect a company alot that can admit when they've made a mistake. As many of you can guess, I was not a big fan of the original video and found many portions cringe worthy, but it wasn't completely inaccurate, so in this video I discuss what was wrong with it and also what was correct and in what context."--Layne Norton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FviIXAvUj_U&index=26&list=PLEEE569A5A86E2E19 www.biolayne.com www.twitter.com/biolayne www.facebook/laynenorton www.instagram.com/biolayne
  20. Move on from it. You need to catch up and with this weather, now is the perfect time to do it. Can't go swimming in the pool with your auntie so might as well binge watch The Dead and catch up. Get over it the boo-hoo episode.
  21. You shouldn't be okay with that. Put the books down and catch up on The Dead!
  22. Evelyn, please watch these videos, even if you've watched them before. Cigarettes aren't going to help you. You know this so please, protect this quit with everything you have. I Want One! Video discusses how to stop the internal debate that often occurs after quitting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHvi6dwLanA Will I Ever Stop Thinking Of Cigarettes? Most people overestimate how much of a battle staying smoke free will be once they quit smoking. This video discusses how people will generally stop thinking about smoking, and much sooner than they usually think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8310BI-euJw&index=14&list=PL4F05C03D0F9B86DB Fixating On A Cigarette This video discusses how people often fixate on the desire to have "a good" cigarette. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZLJ_nlkUCQ&list=PL4F05C03D0F9B86DB&index=42 Boy, Do I Miss Smoking! This video discusses how if people use the phrase "Boy, do I miss smoking," long enough, they may end up believing the message and putting their quits at risk. People don't usually miss smoking--they miss cigarettes and more accurately, they miss the "good cigarettes" they used to smoke. Really though, just how many of their cigarettes were "good cigarettes?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BT5ZL02832s

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
