  2. I'll quit tomorrow. More times than not, those "tomorrows" turn into months and years which is one of the reasons why so many of us quit with years and or decades of smoking under our belts. I quit at 7:00 pm back in 2013. The best time to quit is right now, today! http://www.quittrain.com/topic/4753-videos-addressing-issues-early-in-your-quit/
  3. The keyword is choose. You will always have a choice to smoke but the good news is that the longer you keep nicotine out of your system, the choice to smoke oftentimes does not even enter your mind. I know that everybody is different, but with some of the things that I've been through in my personal life since I quit, lighting up DID NOT enter my mind at all. In the past, this was not the case at all. Once you educate yourself and are 100% committed to never smoke again, something clicks at some point in time and through living life and not lighting up, that option to smoke is way, way down on the list of ways to cope with things. You have to put in the time to get to this point and trust me and others here, it's worth it! Right now smoking is on your mind because you're winning the battle against your addiction to nicotine. You're dealing with this addiction in a way that will keep you smoke-free for the rest of your life. Keep grinding and never, ever give an inch to nicotine, especially by means of smoking it. PS, don't hope because when you hope when dealing with an addiction such as nicotine, you open the door to failure. Tell yourself that no matter what, you've made a commitment to never smoke again and you refuse to break a promise to yourself. No hope or luck is ever needed. Just being smarter than nicotine because let's face it, it's a stupid weed that doesn't have a brain.

  10. If somebody told me that I'd toss it out quicker than a sack of spoiled clams. The only relapses are those which are planned in advance by entertaining junkie thinking before one actually lights up. Complacency Video discussing the importance of not allowing yourself to become complacent after longer term success not smoking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZSktbwotI4&index=30&list=PL4F05C03D0F9B86DB Is Relapse A Natural Part Of The Quitting Process? Discusses potential of long-term relapses after quitting, as well as dispelling the idea that people have to quit multiple times for a quit to be able to finally take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk6OFRO9BY4&index=1&list=PL4F05C03D0F9B86DB I Know Too Much About Smoking To Ever Relapse Video discusses how some people may erroneously begin to think that when they fully understand all aspects of smoking and quitting that there is no way that they could ever relapse back to smoking again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMU8ON0G4G0

  17. 29,759 You'll be forever missed, Beth.
  18. GR8 job! Right now you're putting in time to distant the craves from your mind. Before you know it, you won't mind. :)
  19. My last text message on my phone from Beth was from January 26th, 2016. It read, "Hey just for laughs can you put a judge judy pic on my post?" She was referring to a .GIF of Judge Judy with her eyes rolling and she wanted it in her signature, where it was but she since removed it.
  20. I was thinking the same thing.
  21. Once things calm down and we know more, we'll celebrate Beth's life and make an appropriate tribute to her on QuitTrain. My heart is broken right now.
  22. I honestly don't know what to say. I just found out about this and talked to her daughter-in-law on the phone just a few minutes ago. She passed last night and was found this morning. For those of us who've gotten to know Beth over the years, this is a heartbreaking day for everyone, especially her family. Please keep her family in prayers and for those of us who knew her through our smoking support group, please reach out to one another and this is devastating news. She was such a tough lady who inside, was sweet, loving and would do anything for anybody.
  23. Congrats!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
