  2. If somebody told me that I'd toss it out quicker than a sack of spoiled clams. The only relapses are those which are planned in advance by entertaining junkie thinking before one actually lights up. Complacency Video discussing the importance of not allowing yourself to become complacent after longer term success not smoking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZSktbwotI4&index=30&list=PL4F05C03D0F9B86DB Is Relapse A Natural Part Of The Quitting Process? Discusses potential of long-term relapses after quitting, as well as dispelling the idea that people have to quit multiple times for a quit to be able to finally take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk6OFRO9BY4&index=1&list=PL4F05C03D0F9B86DB I Know Too Much About Smoking To Ever Relapse Video discusses how some people may erroneously begin to think that when they fully understand all aspects of smoking and quitting that there is no way that they could ever relapse back to smoking again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMU8ON0G4G0
  3. Good Morning! It's raining and freezing here in MD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhFP5l71PRE
  4. Forgot to add these bastards I burned a couple of years ago.
  5. Welcome back! If you haven't already, I'd get rid of the ashtrays, lighters etc. and anything else that you won't be needing any longer. :)
  6. I'm still stuck in the 70's. None of my fav's will be there. lol
  7. Why would I want to inhale that nasty smoke into my lungs? NOPE!
  8. Thanks for posting, DD.
  9. 29,759 You'll be forever missed, Beth.
  10. GR8 job! Right now you're putting in time to distant the craves from your mind. Before you know it, you won't mind. :)
  11. My last text message on my phone from Beth was from January 26th, 2016. It read, "Hey just for laughs can you put a judge judy pic on my post?" She was referring to a .GIF of Judge Judy with her eyes rolling and she wanted it in her signature, where it was but she since removed it.
  12. I was thinking the same thing.
  13. Once things calm down and we know more, we'll celebrate Beth's life and make an appropriate tribute to her on QuitTrain. My heart is broken right now.
  14. I honestly don't know what to say. I just found out about this and talked to her daughter-in-law on the phone just a few minutes ago. She passed last night and was found this morning. For those of us who've gotten to know Beth over the years, this is a heartbreaking day for everyone, especially her family. Please keep her family in prayers and for those of us who knew her through our smoking support group, please reach out to one another and this is devastating news. She was such a tough lady who inside, was sweet, loving and would do anything for anybody.
  15. Congrats!!!
  16. This video discusses how it is natural to blame all bad feelings, whether or emotional or physical on the fact that you may have recently quit smoking when other factors may very well be at play. http://www.quittrain.com/topic/4753-videos-addressing-issues-early-in-your-quit/?p=168113

  18. Complacency is any addicts worst enemy. Nobody, and I mean nobody is immune to relapse. http://www.quittrain.com/topic/4754-videos-addressing-relapse-prevention/?p=166975
  19. Great thread! In the beginning I clung to the quit smoking recovery timetable and didn't want to undo the milestones that I had made. For example, after 12 hours of not smoking, the carbon monoxide levels dropped to normal and the oxygen levels returned to normal. :) To me, that was a big deal and enough of an incentive for me that I didn't want to undo it. http://whyquit.com/w...Time_Table.html
  20. Michelle, the important thing is that you're not smoking. If the patch is keeping you from lighting up, then by all means follow the course. As you know, the end goal is to get off of nicotine completely and forever but for now, keep going. You've made a decision to quit smoking and you're changing your approach this time so that means that you're sick and tired of being controlled by this horrible drug. Good for you! :)
  21. How's everything going, Katoo?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
