  1. Glad to have you, ChristaC! Welcome aboard The Quit Train. :)
  2. Juan, that sucks. Let me ask you a question and you can't use the word "quit" in your answer. Why do you smoke?
  3. I haven't seen that option but I'll check it out...
  4. Welcome, comrade! Yes, this is an entirely different environment administered and moderated by former smokers who not only know the importance of beating this deadly addiction, but also understand the emotional side of quitting. Unconditional support is paramount here and of course having fun in the process doesn't hurt either. Glad to see you!
  5. ...sit down and have a beer. lol Good to see you here!!
  6. I graduated from Kent State University as well. What are the Browns thinking? lol Go Ravens. ;)
  7. Joe, what a great looking, happy family! Glad to meet you. I'm originally from a little town in Ohio along Lake Erie called Ashtabula. Are you familiar with it?
  8. I will be looking for the recipe as I cook in the crock pot all the time. I have never heard of orange beef but want to try it.
  9. Many ask if there is room for another on The Quit Train. Of course there is! My favorite song, "The Watchman's Gone" by Gordon Lightfoot, has relevance here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ92sS8WwGM Just like birds of a feather We too have followed the golden sun It feels so good, Knowin' the watchman's gone If I give you a rose, buddy Would you please bury it in the fields? I seen a rose Watchin' it all fold out There's a train down at the station It's come to carry my bones away Two engines on Twenty-one coaches long End to end Twenty-one coaches bend The watchman's out Kickin' the bums about If I wait for the right moment You can bet I'll climb aboard unseen I've done it before I know I can do it in my sleep The watchman's out Kickin'the bums about The watchman's out Kickin' your dreams about As I leave you in the sunset Got one more nothin' I'd like to say "You don't know me A son of the sea am I" As I say to you, my brother If you live to follow the golden sun You better beware Knowin' the watchman's always there If you find me feedin' daisies Please turn my face up to the sky And leave me be Watchin' the moon roll by Whatever I was You know it was all because I've been on the town Washin' the bullshit down The watchman's out Kickin' your dreams about It feels so good Knowin' the watchman's gone It's like a song Knowin' the watchman's gone

  10. It's okay. He may be just off with his girlfriend or something. But if he's struggling, he needs to come back so we can help him. I sent him a PM.
  11. I'm gonna hunt him down. ^_^
  12. Warnings? I don't think that will be an issue here. :)
  13. PetraD!! Welcome!!
  14. I couldn't have said it any better. Congrats, LB. This is awesome!
  15. lol Good ol' Gomer Pyle. Golly, Shazam!!
  16. I couldn't agree more!! My morning coffee with cigarettes I thought was Heaven. What a joke. Heaven is drinking my coffee and reading the posts here or sitting on my deck breathing the fresh air.
  17. Welcome, Jackie!!! I can fix your ticker in your sig if you want me to.
  18. What Bassman is saying (correct me if I'm wrong, Bassman) is that there is no what if's when it comes to quitting and that it's best to understand nicotine addiction to beat it. When you understand and believe in your quit, all the "what if's" are removed. I think I feel another song in the making...
  19. We look out for one another here so you have many people who have your back with this. I have your back. Whatever it takes, we'll help you kick this damn addiction the hell out of your life for good. This is your thread. Come here to vent, bitch, cry, scream and laugh. If you need an SOS, post it in the SOS board so it's front and center and doesn't get overlooked. For right this moment, know that you can quit and stay quit. This is a fact.
  20. If you expect to go bat shit you will. I did not experience any of the 3's, but some people do. I prefer this rule of 3's regarding quitting smoking and everything else in life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEnHzV9XpL0
  21. The dog forcing a smile! hahahahaha
  22. Not sure if you guys are clicking the small calendar on the right, but you need to click on the hook (link) named calendar which is on the same row of hooks as chat, gallery etc. From here, you have full access to the calendar. If you put your birthday in your profile, it's automatically added to the calendar. I'm working on having everybody's quit dates added to the calendar if that field is filled out in the profiles. Please let me know if you're still having issues using the calendar. :)
  23. LB you're far too kind. Perhaps I should change my name back to MQ. :)
  24. HM!!!!!!! The woman with the infectious smile is here. :)
  25. LB!!!! Very glad you're here. PS, love your avatar.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
