  1. That's awesome!! You've come to the right place because this place is chock full of quitters. :)
  2. I'm going to buy the biggest box of Grape Nuts that I can find and hide all sorts of valuables and goodies in it. Nobody, not even the wife will pick it up. I'll move it every now and then just so it looks like I'm the only one eating them. I'll dump the box out in the woods so the squirrels can eat it. GR8 idea!!!
  3. Incredibly awesome!!!! Big tobacco isn't smiling, but we sure are!!! Welcome, IamDoingIt!! :)
  4. I found this... http://homeguides.sfgate.com/remove-cigarette-smell-apartment-1789.html
  5. You're a very kind and strong woman, Evelyn. We may be behind a screen, but it's much the same as talking to a friend on the phone. Thank you for being you. :)
  6. Hi Amy and welcome! Congrats on the best decision that you could possibly make right now. If you're at all apprehensive about quitting (I think we all were!), what are your top 3 things that concern you the most about once you put out your last cigarette?
  7. No more stank breath for others to breathe as I talk to them. I can smell the shampoo in my hair when the wind blows. lol
  8. Where are you, juanrmartino? You doing okay?
  9. I saw her here yesterday but she's been quiet...
  10. No more constant congestion and that irritating cough...
  11. "We are drug addicts." This was the hardest thing for me to accept because after all, "I'm smoking, not shooting heroin". My doctor chuckled as I told him this right after he called me an addict. It was at this time my eyes started to open that if I was going to quit smoking for good, then I had to come to grips with the fact that I am a nicotine addict and always will be. It may seem a bit daunting to imagine your life without smoking, but quitting now will give you the freedom that you gave up so long ago.
  12. I pledge to be here for the long haul. :)
  13. DJ & hubby, many congrats to the both of you. You've endured a lot over the last months and it's an honor to celebrate with you.
  14. Doreen, you're a sweet woman and I couldn't be more happy for you.
  15. When I read this, Marti, it reminds me of this video that I post all the time. It says it all, especially because we smoked despite knowing the health risks. Maybe if your Mum watched this, something might speak to her and plant that seed of motivation and confidence that she's not alone in these feelings and can quit. It's from Allen Carr's successor. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVEyGdqwjmQ
  16. Recharge those batteries and feel well and rested when you wake up. :)
  17. That, despite it all, is victory. As I was reading through this thread this morning, not knowing how you were, imagine the smile on my face reading that not only did you go out and buy groceries, but you also didn't smoke!! Please know that you're never truly alone. You have your no-smo pals right beside you.
  18. That's sad. I've heard him on one of the comedy channels on Sirius radio. Very funny man and way too young too die.
  19. Congratulations, Nancy!!
  20. Thank you!!! I'm very proud of these past 6 months and have endured. I will not lose them. :) Smoking sucks and only makes things worse. Not smoking makes the bad things not suck as bad and the good things a million times better! :)
  21. It's just part of doing business on planet earth.

  22. Things always look different 12 hours later. Bad days suck. I had a bad month last month. lol The whole. Damn. Month. Sucked. lol Gotta take the good with the bad I tell myself. Just part of doing business on planet earth.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
