  1. I'll join in, nope for me.
  2. Good for you! This is why having a support group is so important to me, and you. Without being around others dealing with the same issues, it's too easy to forget what all we stand to lose by thinking "just one" will be okay.
  3. That's the attitude, Holski!! After we know all the lies about smoking and the junkie thinking that we used to rationalize with, honestly ,there's no going back to a career smoker. I mean people may struggle and relapse, but they never give up and get their sticky quit, like you have. Great job!!!
  4. Your kicking ass and taking names this time! I see somebody who is driven and won't let anybody or anything get in his way. I really enjoy reading your updates. I'd much rather take a weekend trip to Sioux Falls than Vegas. :)
  5. I bought Sycamore Row when it first came out so I could get a 1st edition. I have all Grisham's books in 1st edition. I also keep a few in my Nook so I could read at work without getting them ruined. What a gifted writer he is.
  6. No smoking for me today.
  7. Uncomfortable is the worst quitting will ever get. Hard is not in our vocabulary. By endurance we conquer.--Sir Ernest Shackleton
  8. I look to the Germans for my workout music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsEVr4TQo9w
  9. Juan, there is no wrong way to quit smoking. There is only one right way and you're doing it by not smoking, staying active in a support and taking the steps to put your mind in the right place. I know I have posted this numerous, but please watch it again because there are so many truths in this and this is what you must focus on to change your mindset. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVEyGdqwjmQ

  17. The Sarge has officially broke in the new forum. :) chewie stewie
  18. Hi Paula! Hope you've been well and sure am glad to see you here. :)
  19. At the foot of the might Wasatch, one Holski has been smoke-free for 6 months! Congratulations!!
  20. Bother? No bother!! Keep bitching. You've earned that right and keep fighting for your life! Do not go to the store to get cigarettes and do not smoke. Nobody would ever tell you to pull the patch off, especially since you're having a hard time right now. You can get through this. It's part of the healing process. You should be very proud of yourself because you've been a "hero" through all of this. Stay strong and do not remove that patch. Whatever you need to do to not smoke, do it. Keep posting as much as you need to. That is what this support forum is for. We're here for you. Right now and always.
  21. I'm going to listen to this on my way to work in the morning. It's saddening to see the damage that smoking causes and it's completely avoidable. We gotta help everybody we can to quit smoking and bring big tobacco to their knees. No demand for their deadly products and they go away. Not like the Master Settlement Agreement, which cost them an arm and a leg, but far fewer customers means that somebody while I'm on Rt-95 in Virginia I don't have to see their huge campus and big cigarette statue along the freeway.
  22. Congratulations!!!! Welcome to Freedom Town!!!!
  23. Keep putting in the time and before you know it, smoking will be nothing but a memory from your past.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
