You are actually spot on here. What has been a full time work before to battle with addiction is now gone. I am starting to feel more energy and I do realize I need to do some changes in my life and constantly improving all areas of my life. Because what this addiction did to me, was to shift my attention only to nicotine and also lower my energy. So all I did last years was trying to quit my addiction but now I can finally live my life. I never want to have these chains again in my life, ever.6 points

Well dome @Dejvis93!! You’ve gotten through the initial withdrawal and come out fighting! Now the work shifts a bit… rebuilding your life that was held hostage to vaping. You will be tested. Cravings will come, triggers and temptations will arise. The fight will get gradually easier. But now you have many days of proof that you DON’T need nicotine to cope. Well done! Keep flying!6 points

Glad to hear your quit is still going strong @Dejvis93! Remember that that damn vaping never did 1 good thing for you. It only drained your wallet & stole your personal freedom by enslaving you to nicotine!! you can likely see that better now that you’ve kicked that junk to the kerb5 points

Hi @LoriB, welcome aboard our train full of quitters. Congratulations on being done with your nicotine addiction once and for all ☺. We have a ton of information to educate yourself including a forum on vaping so be sure to take a look around. Most people start with the pinned threads.2 points

Welcome @LoriB You are doing a great thing in quitting vaping and you did a great thing in quitting smoking several years ago. I am sorry for your health scare and i hope things get better. My last year or two as a smoker, I tried to quit by switching to vaping and e-cigs, thinking that it was somehow better than smoking regular tobacco cigarettes. I made three misguided attempts to switch over, each lasting a few weeks, and I grew to think I was actually vaping more than I was smoking. I actually got weird feelings in my gums and sharp headaches that I didn't experience with smoking. It would not surprise me if sometime down the line , it is determined that vaping is just as bad, if not worse, than regular smoking.....that is just my opinion. Anyway, it is best to leave both the vapes and smokes behind. I am sorry to hear about your potential layoff from your job in the upcoming months but vaping, or smoking, will not make anything better. Stick around this site and continue to reach our for help when you need it. I am not going to ask who your bother in law is (unless you care to share) but he made a good decision in recommendiing you to come here. We are a somewhat odd bunch but we really belive in helping others kick the nicotine habit once and for all. Life is much better without nicotine.2 points

In Saint John New Brunswick since late Thursday, we’ll; turned into early Friday morning with flight delays Didn’t hit the bed at the hotel until almost 5:00 AM & had meetings at 11;00 AM & 11:30 AM. Went for Mom’s funeral, which was delayed a month so everybody’s schedule could match up. 9 out of 10 Grandchildren showed up from all across Canada. That tells you how well loved Gramma was We’ve been meeting up for dinner every night since Friday & tonight’s the last supper, so to speak. Of course, they’ve all been at seafood places because we’re right by the ocean! Hard on the wallet but yummy, yummy, yummy in the tummy Flying back home tomorrow afternoon. Will check in then for the major celebrations2 points

Hi @Dejvis93 I am very happy that you didn't give up your quit while the site was down. Wow, 17 days already, that is great!! You are doing really fantastic! Keep doing it! The first couple of months you will struggle but it gets easier and easier as time goes on. Even though I am quit over a year, on occasion I still get an urge but it passes very quickly and isn't the same type of urge that I got in the beginning. Have a great weekend!2 points

MQ and Rixcz… Thank you for all the time and effort you have spent to help this wonderful train keep going to help ,all that take a seat to free themselves of this horrible killer addiction .. If you’re on the fence …take a seat …you have nothing to lose …it’s the most wonderful feeling to be free1 point

QT isn't going anywhere, that is for certain. The issue was getting a hold of someone to fix the issue. Thankfully, Rixcz responded to me, and it took him only 5-minutes to fix the issue. The person who I was using in Rixcz's absence wasn't pressed to make the fix, which is why it was down for those few days. Thankfully, in the decade that we've existed, this was only the second time that we went down. The first time had nothing to do with us. There have been planned outages for routine maintenance that lasted from a few minutes to several hours, depending on what needed to get done. This was the exception and Rixcz is available again to help out like had for the previous many years.1 point

Good to know there is a Quit Train FB page to check for updates and organize ourselves (ha ha) if necessary. I had forgotten that, so thanks for the reminder. We're really lucky to have a site that ordinarily has almost zero downtime, and I'm super appreciative of all the behind-the-scenes work that must go into that. Especially for free, which makes a really important health and community service accessible to all. To our lovely moderators and @MarylandQuitter: If there is anything the rest of us can do to contribute to site stability (pitch in for more storage space or server costs or whatever?) please let us know. Having the site crash for a few days is a rather pointed reminder of how grateful I am for it!1 point
