Welcome back!! So wonderful to read your post and to learn you are back on the path to freedom. The sleep thing sux for a while, then gets better. Radically reducing my caffeine intake helped (turns out nicotine accelerated how my body processes the stuff… it hangs around forever now that I’ve quit), as did good sleep hygiene (no screens in/before bed) and listening to audiobooks at night. Sleeping pills in a pinch, monitored by my Dr. It gets better after a while. Hang in there!3 points

Hi Congratulations on 22 days I don't know how active your lifestyle is but I always found upping your activity walking or lifting weights or gardening or swimming or all the above helps me sleep. If you can't do that maybe get your dr to prescribe you something to help.3 points

Good Gawd! I went for a walk today to check on the S.S. Quit Train. I know we like to party it up when someone reaches their 1 Year Quit mark but it's really gotten outta hand. Didn't realize the last blow-out Lido Deck event left our ship & Lido Deck in such a state. We have only 1 Week to go from this ... To This: We Need Volunteers Pronto! Let's meet in the train's bar car1 point

Welcome back Kenzie. I remember you well. What Jillar said is true. It's gonna be down right crappy for a period of time. There's no way around it you just gotta stop yourself when you think you're ready to thow in the towel. Sometimes it's a toss up as to what you'll do but that's when ya gotta dig deeper into that empty emotional tank and forge ahead with your quit. That's how you achieve success in quitting. That truly difficult time won't last forever, although sometimes it seems lik it might. Hold tight to your commitment to improve your life and just get it done at all costs! We all go through it so it IS doable! We don't have anything you don't; that's for sure.1 point

@kenzie_peyton, I didn't read the book so I can't comment on what it says but I had a really hard quit. It sucks but the only way past it is through so you're going to have to be uncomfortable, crabby, teary and all the other emotions that come up with quitting. But I promise you if you just hang in there and hold on to that precious quit it will get so much better. Everyone can quit and most of us were just like you when we first quit and now we're free. I want that same thing for you too ☺1 point
