  1. Thanks friends y’all r so sweet I went to bed, woke up wildly nauseous a few times throughout the night, and this morning woke up feeling fine. Went to work (just me and hubs) and that was fine. Weird! I didn’t have any tests so just picked one up and took it…it’ll be ready in 10 mins. Maybe I’ll wait to post this until I have the results lol. It’s negative! Lol Hope you guys r having a nice Fri-yay

  3. Did you know that your quit starts as soon as you put out your last cigarette? So if you quit smoking today you can go into the new year telling people you quit last year!

  4. There's a myriad of respiratory illnesses going around this time of year and yes, Christmas gatherings are often an issue because of this. I gather you don't have a rapid test kit for Covid? They give 'em out like candy where I live. It would be good to test yourself so you know for sure. In any case, hope you get through what ever it is quicky without too much down time. Keep hydrated and get as much rest as you can

  5. Take good care, Bri… hope you feel better soon! Fingers crossed that it’s a passing or mild thing. My honey and I both got clobbered by COVID in Nov. We got a little sick, got better for a while, then got worse again. Turns out there was a strong strain in our area, bad enough to spread at the frigging grocery store (the only place we possibly could have been exposed). But we got through it and are both fine now. Before I quit smoking, any kind of cold invariably turned into a major sinus infection or bronchitis and lingered on and on and on. I am grateful that did not happen this time. It was a big drag to be sick, but it was not the multi-month affair that it would likely have been before. Thankful for that.

  8. Bri. I hope you and family are ok and it's not that wretched crap. Luckily it skipped me through the last of my smoking career. I knew if I got it smoking and with the heart issues it would be devastating. Some family members went through it (non smokers) and just like a flu they got through it. Now that we are clean the chances of it being mild are certainly better. Hoping for the best.

  15. Sorry to hear that you have this medical issue to deal with. Be diligent and work hard on your physical therapy. You’ll do fine. I do believe most of what you’ve advised here will apply to your recovery.

  17. Hi peeps, feeling a bit nervous bc I started feeling achy, tired today…and my mom, my aunts friend, a client of ours, tested positive for the vid . My mom came over on Christmas seemingly sick and she was like “it’s just a cold it’s Christmas I have to come”, then later that day at hubs’ parents’ house, my FIL was sick with a “respiratory infection”. I love my mom and fam but seriously?! Major eye roll lol. I just hope I’m in need of some good rest or dehydrated or something and it’s not covid. Even if it is, hoping it’s mild.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
