  2. It literally sucks so much, mlmr!! That cursing section on QT was calming to me, to read, to post lol. You can totally do this and I forgot who first told me but the cravings go away if you smoke and they also go away if you don’t smoke, that always helped me put things into perspective. You got this

  3. Yeah, sometimes quitting is a zen flow sorta thing. And sometimes it’s a brawl and you just wanna shout “Get offa me!” You are making great headway. Smack those cravings away and march on toward freedom!

  5. Hey all I started again. My wife and I are divorcing so it is just me in an apartment and it triggered me to start smoking again. I want to stop so badly. Any encouragement would be good. KDAD

  6. Sorry to hear that you are going through hard times, @Kdad, but I’m glad you came back here for support. The thing with smoking (and other addictions) is that they are demoralizing, isolating, and they erode our self esteem. You don’t need all of that junk that when coping with the loss of a relationship! So saddle up and re-start that quit. It will be hard at first but will ultimately help you feel better. You are not alone, we are here to help you!

  9. Hello Kdad, I remember you from a few years back. Sorry to hear you divorced - and relapsed. I did too, took me a good 2,5 years to pick myself back up again. Must be a difficult time for you atm. Wishing you all the best, and let us know how we can help you! I for one know that you can do it all over again!

  11. That's a tough one @Kdad! All I can say is when you think your world is falling apart, work on things that you and you alone can control ... like quitting smoking! You have obviously realized smoking again was not the answer you were seeking so get rid of it. Hang in here and let other quitters help support you in your effort to quit once again! Cigarettes offer nothing positive for you going forward!

  20. Had a bit of a sh*tty day today. Multiple cravings, didnt know where, what or why. Said: Nope. Nope. Nope. No discussion about it. Felt relieved afterwards! This attitude does work. Trying to downsize as much as possible. I am so happy about my sleep, apart from two or three bad nights everything is ok. Makes it all a lot less tense. Day 8 already. Moving fast!

  33. Very much agree with Reci and would add, I have been to two pulmonologist and turns out they have a different diagnosis ......... who would have thought. My confidence in the medical industry is low and getting lower, a person can go to a lot of doctors and get lots of different diagnosis, that's why they call it a practice. I prefer not having them practicing on me. Forgot to say, with a CT scan, you have something better than just a guess.

  35. Quitting smoking is the number one best thing a person with COPD can do for themselves in terms of improved future health. I'm a little surprised that the Dr. who did the breathing tests did not also schedule you for at least a chest X-ray or preferably a CT scan which gives more detail on the condition of your lungs than an X-Ray might. It's my understanding that COPD is usually linked to other lung issues such as chronic bronchitis, asthma or emphysema which is why I'm a little surprised your Dr. didn't investigate those issues further. Are you on and sort of medication for your COPD?

  36. How was your case of COPD diagnosed? Personally, I have never heard of a case of misdiagnosed COPD. More details required here.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
