… and suddenly, Its almost been a week. I am doing good. One or two slightly difficult moments during the day, but thats pretty much it. I have a lot to be thankfull for: I am healthy, have a job, good friends and I live in freedom. I made a mantra about that, to remind myself that I have the luxury of choosing a healthy life. Its a privilege and to me its a gentle way of saying, ok, dont whine and get on with it. This positive attitude about it -> its somewhat ‘fake it untill you make it’ but it works. Focussing on what I gain and knowing that all these awkard feelings are essentially just a sign that im doing the right thing. I guess detox is over now, on to the next phase. I am excited about it, reminds me of my very first quit years ago. I am curious of the discoveries to come.6 points

When you pack in and stand back you realise how utterly selfish it all is. We have all been there. They feel like they should be allowed to smoke anywhere. As I say, we have been on that side aswell. You only see that perspective knowingly when you pack in. Such a selfish act being a smoker.4 points

I'm not familiar with these 'pouches' containing nicotine just as I am also not familiar with what chemicals in Chew causes so much mouth cancer among regular users but based on what I have seen or experienced with any & all products containing nicotine, none of those products are good. They ALL do their best to give the user an earlier than expected exit from this life and ALL of them seek to make money on the backs of addicts. In my mind, that's as low as humans can go in terms of treatment of fellow humans3 points

Sounds like chewing tobacco to me and having known two people who died from cancer of the mouth because of chew that's as dangerous as it can get. It was horrible too as both these guys had parts of their mouths slowly removed to try to stop the spread. They lost their tongues, their teeth, and much more but it wasn't enough and they died. Also, since they suck on it they can use it anywhere I would imagine meaning they could be getting a lot of nicotine everyday.3 points

A friend said they have been using these for a couple years now, wonder how safe that is? Trying to figure out how to reply to them. We used On packs, these are still nicotine but like tiny flavored tea bags kept on the gum of the mouth.1 point

Wow that's still a lot. In US$ for the 20 cig pack the conversion for A$ to US$ is $22. Way too much. I was getting my cigarettes from overseas not paying any tax and it they cost me about $34 for a carton which contains 10 packs, so it was very cheap. But then they had a problem with the shipping and the cigarettes weren't coming, so I decided to quit because even at $15 a pack here in NY, that is way too expensive for me. I still get cravings every once in a while since it's only been 3 months for me, but they definitely aren't as bad as that first month.1 point
