  1. Still here! Still got shingles and in pain … but I made 4 weeks! Super happy but yesterday weather was crappy and I just couldn’t figure out how to use all this free time up - in the past, I would just have sat outside and smoked! I think I’m going to have to find an inside hobby …. posting a little less often - but read everyday and still committed. Hope we are all doing well on the train

  17. My how time flies. There was a time when I thought I would never quit and now here I am at 7 years quit. Counting my years prior to starting, I’m at about 40% of my life as a non-smoker!

  18. For epic high fantasy I'd recommend Roger Zelazny's "Nine Princes in Amber" It hails back from 70's but has aged very well.

  23. Thanks @johnny5 for starting this thread for me. And thank you all for the kind words and congratulations. It made my day These years go by so quickly and it gives me purpose to be able to assure someone just starting their quit that they can do it. As they say, it takes a village and in our case it takes a train full to raise a quitter. There is no better group to help a person quit smoking than a group of people who have done it and know what you are going through because chances are they went through it too. Thanks again you guys, you're the best!

  24. @jillar Congratulations to you also. We both came to the conclusion that we'd smoked long enough on the same day. @johnny5 Feels good with Tom Hanks cheering me on.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
