You’re all so great - I have read a lot f your stories and am so desperate to be where you all are! my approach is that the next cigarette is going to cost me at least 70,000$CAD and most probably 10 years off my life….. I cannot afford that next cigarette. So here I am - stuck with it. 8.21 and just waiting to go to bed so that this day is over - but happy that I saw it through4 points

Just got home from the shop…me and hubs own a screen printing and embroidery business. I used to teach special education K-2 but resigned last year. I still don’t know what I want to do with my life . But me, now, Just crashed on the couch for a bit before making dinner.4 points

Halfway through day 2 and still smoke free - hubby still puffing away (and seems sort of annoyed with me) but I’m determined to make it to the end of day 2 if it kills me! Cannot wait to get to tomorrow and do the same again. Thanks for the undeserved encouragement4 points

*you are sooo right - in bed!. I can already smell the smoke on hubby - not great but not in a position to judge - I was him 2 days ago. Looking forward to being at the end of day 3 and mowed 2 lawns tonight - keeping busy. thamks for the support3 points

@Slow progress, if going to bed helps you keep your quit than why wait? We do whatever we need to do on the early days of our quits including going to bed early if it helps. Use it as one of your quit tools. You are doing great and it won't take long for your sense of smell to come back so you'll be able to smell the stale smoke on your hubby and be glad you don't smell like that anymore!3 points

Wtg, SP! You are deserving of encouragement. I kept reading and reading about the addiction and what it tells us, how it manipulates us, both here and over on Reddit. Also forcing myself to drink water. Air cig (straws and cotton ball). Analog clock to watch the hours go by. Sugar free red vines. TikTok. Trashy reality tv. And u know what, I still want them sometimes, I think it’s just gonna suck for awhile. But u know what I have had a few not super sucky days so there’s that. Lol. Here for u!3 points

Don’t believe 1/2 of what you read or even see on the news. A lot of it is crap! I have 4 kids (and I only have 4), who are election deniers. They think their Mom is stupid! I invited them to my wedding, anyway. As for Covid, it confuses me that everyone is pretending it’s over. As far as I know, it’s not. It just killed my best friend’s Dad. Having said that, he was 95. We all need to stay safe, but don’t drink the Kool Aid! Nurse Kat2 points
