  6. I hope you're taking your own great advice Darcy. Just keep reminding yourself that you do not want to go through this again and again. Once is enough and then its over. I'm telling you this as someone who had a miserable first year! I wish I had my posts from that first year but they were lost and could have shown you that perseverance pays off! You can do it, xoxo

  11. Hello Fellow Quit Train Riders, This should be in the S.O.S. section. The support you offer is amazing. Thanks for all you have given to me. I understand that I will only make everything more difficult by smoking. I am hurting so badly that I just don't care. Been in this space for going on 16 hours. Sleep didn't help. I get that it is a terrible choice and that things will change. eventually. For the forseeable future I just need to feel as bad about myself as I do about the situations I am responding/REACTing to.....for whatever self punishment or loathing that demosnstrates. To Brioksi and Molly....STAY SEATED....nothing is worth giving up your quit to live the life you desire. Like Mac says, believe in yourself.

  15. @Brioski I’m so happy that you chose to not smoke! I have to admit I get a little tickled when I see that you have cursed your way through another crave although I know without any doubt that it is not a humorous situation to be in. I recently celebrated my 2nd year quit and yesterday afternoon I found myself in the happiest of situations. After Easter dinner all of the kids had gone out to play and the next thing I knew, ‘I’ was alone in the house. The other adults had stepped out to smoke! I watched them through the window for a few minutes and had true tears of thankfulness that it wasn’t me out there and then I had another slice of cake to celebrate because I had absolutely no thought or need to go out and join them. It does get easier. Each and every time. It gets easier.

  17. YES you will, I PROMISE! The longer you are quit the more triggers you've gone past so if craves do come up here and there they are nothing more than a fleeting thought that goes as quickly ad it came on. That is as long as you don't give it any head space. My favorite aunt died in February and my awesome uncle on my mom's side died a couple weeks ago and never did a thought of smoking enter my mind. You guys will get there too but it takes time. At least a year, thus the one year commitment pinned to the top of the forum

  19. @DenaliBlues hell yea it is!! Real bumpy…who installed these speed bumps? Hope you’re ok too…as my grandpa used to say, “compost happens”, I’m sorry you’re having a go too. Heck yea, @darcy still an ex smoker, and I’m sorry you’re having some blips too. You’re both right, we can do this…even through the sucky times. We WILL feel better vets, right?! Promise?!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
