The day has arrived after so much work. I hope you feel proud, happy, healthy and relieved. I know I thought I could not do it, at one year I felt all those things!! I still struggle but I have the knowledge now that I did not then. What a blessing this place is and that we get to be a part of it. CONGRATULATIONS!!6 points

Never heard that before, thats cool, Marty was something special for sure. From his Bio: (Robbins enjoyed one of the most illustrious careers in the history of country music. He recorded more than 500 songs and 60 albums, and won two Grammy Awards. Each year for 19 consecutive years, Robbins managed to place at least one song on the Billboard country singles charts.) Born in Arizona and died in Tennessee.4 points

1 year update. the big finale. the exciting news. y'all ready for this??? There is literally nothing to update. I have said it all before. Another day has come and gone without smoking just like the 365 days before this one. Did I think about smoking? Probably. Do I still want one? on some level probably yeah. But not smoking is the norm now. was it worth the hell to get to this point? absolutely. not being controlled by a chemical cocktail inside a smoldering piece of paper is relieving. it's almost like waking up from a bad dream. The smoking has lost control of me. The quitting is losing control and just being an average person who doesn't smoke is right in front of me. it doesn't mean I'm letting my guard down though. It just means I'm treating smoking like any other drug I don't do. I don't think about not doing heroine all day long because I don't use it. Same with cigarettes. That's it. All you 2021 quitters that have hit the lido deck before me, I salute you. All those that haven't made it yet, stay with us and your time will come. All those that fell off, get back on. Once you realize that you can free your mind from the addiction and that you can direct your thoughts, your ass has no choice but to follow. It will rebel at first but it has to toe the line the mind draws. And for all those long time quitters who still come here to help slobs like me, you have my utmost respect and admiration. Good night quit train. Pleasant smoke free dreams.2 points

Congratulations @intoxicated yoda!!! I never doubted for one moment that you would make it to the Lido Deck. Although I was ahead of you in my quit, I want you to know that a lot of your posts helped me so much. You are awesome!2 points

Another one by Marty Robbins. This one is historically significant as the song that gave birth to the fuzzy guitar tone. When Grady Martin went to add his guitar solo, a transformer blew in his amp leading to 250 volts going directly through the winding. And the rest is history.2 points

c9jane29 Posted May 14 Thank you guys so much!! 5 years already?! I love it!! I look back on the last 5 years with so much joy in my heart... I'm glad I saw my quit as a celebration, it has always felt that way...never negative. It changed my life, my kids lives. I volunteer as a Girl Scout Troop Leader...before I would have never done anything like that. I had convinced myself I had too much anxiety or too introverted but all of that was my addiction getting me to fall out so I'd always have time to feed it. I still have my original "why I want to quit" list and my terrible Bob Ross paintings all around the house because my quit will always be a part of me. My husband quit a little after me and he finally had the courage to quit a kitchen job he had been at for 10 years for an accountant position and now he's the supervisor. Believe me when I saw anything is possible! Thanks Quittrain for always being here to celebrate with me... I'll even bring the balloons ❤ Link to original post: https://www.quittrain.com/calendar/event/729-c9jane29-anniversary/?do=findComment&comment=2251 point
