  2. I wonder if there are more doors or more wheels in the world. I mean I loose sleep over it. 2am, wide awake, but which one is it? Does a glove box count as a door, I mean it's hinged, you need to open it to gain access . It's a door right?

  4. Must be something about women that way..........in the Chicks and Sticks game, after I made that comment, asking if the chicks had a house to clean or something.................they walloped us pretty good after that.

  6. It helps me, mentally, to have passed through triggers (weekend away, house full of relatives, medical procedures, getting sick) without dropping everything and running to the convenience store for smokes. I owe most of my success (so far) to a combination of this website and all of you, Joel Spitzer's videos, and stop smoking self-hypnosis (youtube) and pretzels. Lots of pretzels.

  7. Awesome @Jack1664 I love it when those that have been here before us hop back on board to let us know how they are doing, especially those that have such successful quits! Thank you!

  8. Hi All I’ve not been on here for ages. I just stopped feeling the need for the great support work you all do. I thought I would pop back just to say it was recently 5 years since I quit and it is in part down to the support of you. So thank you very much and keep on keeping on XX

  18. The meaning of “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” is to show gratitude when you receive a gift, rather than inspecting it to see if it’s what you want. When we receive a gift from someone, we’re entitled to thank them for their effort.

  24. And would a cars trunk lid and hood count as doors? Dishwashers, washing machines, all doors?
    1 point
  25. Right! Glove Box is considered to have a door that opens and closes for access purposes, same function as any other door. I'm a little confused about the association between doors & wheels though. Wouldn't an association between doors and windows be more natural? Most things with either windows or door have the other item included as well although I expect the windows would win out there. Or, does that just open up another can of worms for ya?

  26. I can assure you, snakes and many other critters, don't much like -35C temps in Jan./Feb. so they are pretty scarce here

  28. I had a house full of relatives with the obligatory sight seeing trips from Friday - Monday and follow up medical tests today. Found myself trying to sneak outside to smoke more than once. Instead, I just snuck outside (without lighting anything on fire) to take a quick break or two.

  32. Testing. Testing. One. Two. Can you hear me now? Been dealing with a complete system shut down all morning. So...fun times! In case of further technological meltdowns, I will be communicating via smoke signal from now on. I have no idea how that's going to work on windy days but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

  35. Kwik e Mart Gougers went into the playoffs as a bottom seed. We fought our way thru the playoffs to make the championship game last night. Sadly we got whooped but at least the other team was better than us so it takes some of the sting off. Now on to Winter league

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
