  5. Worked in a large industrial park, all kinds of plants. There was a factory that made pork rinds. That was all you could smell, first it was bad but it did start to get old. I still get a crave for them once in awhile!

  6. I grew up about 1/4 mile from Budweiser brewing. I remember the smell of hops as a kid. Later in life, my teachers all said i'd be nothing but a construction worker & an alcoholic. F them..... lucky guess

  8. Growing up we has an Arnold's biscuit factory 1 block from school...and in the other direction the Lagoon Lolly Factory...so we could either smell fresh baked bickies (cookies) or the lovely smell of lollies being boiled (candy/taffy). But even better....we also were the home of the world's only Vegemite factory...when the wind blew just right it was the lovely smell of Vegemite and sometimes cheddar cheese. Now where I live is surrounded by market gardens (mmm wet cabbage & broccoli smell) and the biggest sewage treatment plant in Australia...I've come so far down.

  11. This song killed it at the Blue Light Discos back in the day... you know your Gen-Xer from Straya when you went to under-age discos held by the cops at the town hall and a song with this title was played more than once a night....

  14. Hello! Yesterday, going back to work was tough, new and different triggers to deal with. Not terrible, but you sure realize how much smoking dominated everything you do. Today was a little easier, being prepared or knowing where/when all the trouble would be coming from and be ready with a big NOPE! What I have learned here has helped so much understanding what the heck is going on and why I feel the way I do. My caffeine intake is around 35% of what it was (which was a lot) while smoking, so feeling a little sluggish .... but good, hard to describe, more solid or stable I guess. I am sleeping good and deep breathing exercises are starting to be routine. I think all the changes will take a little while to settle in as normal for me as a non-smoker. Been checking out the web site here and one thing for sure is, I won't be playing the chicks with sticks game So grateful to be on the train and smoke free, as I said before, my quit would have been so much different without you all. Thank you

  19. Little Debbie used to be right in my backyard. Before I moved, I lived in Collegedale, TN. Lived close to one of the McKee Foods plants that makes Little Debbie products. When the wind blew just right, the air smelled of baked goods and chocolate. Nice!

  20. I appreciate you all. Given the kind of month it’s been, I have no doubt that I would have lost my quit by now without your support and encouragement. Thanks for having my back.

  25. **** BREAKING NEWS * BREAKING NEWS * BREAKING NEWS **** ** SANCTITY OF SACRED BASTION BREECHED BY BUNNY’S LOOP HOLE ** Sorties into the Sticks’ sacred bastion, Babe of the Day, have always been met with swift resistance and rallying of the troops and a prompt shutting down of those pesky Chick interlopers. Firm reprimands and outright threats have seen all those who wished to infiltrate quickly driven off. Who really wants to be thrown from a moving train? Her highness, the lovely Lady Doreen has been tolerated due to her benevolence (and administrative clout) but all other Chicks have been given quick shift to move along. All other chicks that is, until Jillar the Wonder Bunny. Or is she really a bunny boiler? Jillar’s first attack to the status quo came earlier this month however her initial incursion seems to have been just a testing of the waters. Things intensified last Wednesday with a rather delicious babe of the beef cake variety being posted. Despite some attempts to cast aspersions as to his sexuality it quickly became clear the Chicks don’t really care who he’s batting for as long as he looks lickable likeable. To say the Sticks weren’t too pleased with this pollution of their wank bank would be putting it mildly. There were some grumblings and rampant postings to move the offending image along but alas (for the sticks) Wednesday was just the first volley and a consistent daily posting of Babe’s that come complete with their own bat and balls. Boo et al have been most perturbed by this change to their beloved thread. Confidential sources have confirmed that this diversification of a thread they hold sacred has led to many tears but fear not they all had Kleenex close at hand. While its clear that complaints have been made through the official channels and the Chicks, led by Jillar, have been asked to desist and create their own thread the standoff continues. Jillar, quite correctly, pointed out that nowhere does the thread (in name, tags or instructional first post) indicate that it is a Chick of the Day thread, only a Babe of the Day. She has in fact committed no infractions. Management and the Commissioner are yet to wade into the debate as the Sticks so far have either conceded to logic or maintained the stance of whinging but not debating the issue. Speaking of those waving the white flag, confidential sources have also confirmed there are those in the Sticks camp not happy with a certain scarred white tiger who openly accepted Jillar’s defence that Babe of the Day meant blokes too. Yes it’s a technicality and a loop hole (trust the bunny to find the hole, that rascally rabbit) but his public acceptance of it has severely diminished any future defence the Sticks may need to mount should this escalate. What fails to be seen is if Boo and his boys retaliate or challenge Jillar’s seemingly smooth incursion and habitation of the thread? Will there be repercussions for her audacity? How will Whispers waving of the white flag be dealt with??? Watch this space for updates as the story develops.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
