Hi again @Marie71. I had a long talk with my doctor about bupropion (the generic name for Zyban) a while back. It is still often prescribed in low doses (either by itself or in conjunction with NRT) as a smoking cessation aid. There is good research indicating that it’s effective. Because I was such a heavy smoker, my doctor said NRT – lozenges, gum or patches - and bupropion could be used together. But I ended up going the NRT route alone. I didn’t want to add a second chemical withdrawal process to my already smoke-pickled brain. Also I ended up quitting smoking asap due to some unexpected surgery, with no time to let the meds build up in my system. But every person is different. At the end of the day, whatever method helps you kick nicotine and smoking to the curb is great. Pick a path and rock your quit! Have you set your date yet? I remember from earlier posts that you are worried about the anxiety of quitting. Just remember that smoking, itself, can intensify anxiety also. Withdrawal pains are temporary, but smoking pains pretty much never end, they just repeat on an endless loop. You deserve freedom from that!2 points

@Marie71Don't worry to much about if it did or didn't work for someone else. The question to ask is is it helping you? If it is then stick with it and I'm all for you using it to get you over the hump. If it isn't helping you then you probably don't need it. Only you can make that determination and everyone here will try support you by whatever means we have. good luck and stay quit.2 points

Lamenting the fact egg dying kits were not a thing down here...I feel like my childhood was deprived. Also, watching Malcom and wondering how the frick Colin Friels never made it in Hollywood.1 point

I really wish it was not a holiday weekend. I would of liked to of extended my fast to 5 days but found it hard with me being the cook and all lol this was the first time during and after a fast I felt so positive about it and truly feel so much better after it. I will be incorporating fasting into my weekly life just not sure which route I want to go now with it.1 point

After doing tile, I admire anyone that does it. I am one that likes to get in there and make it look new fast. We were torn up for over a week. I am thankful my husband will try anything (he is too cheap to pay anyone).1 point

@Mee, when my husband and I married he had his own business. He did a lot of tile work. You should be proud, it looks like you paid a pro to come in and do it!1 point

@Mee, your new backsplash looks wonderful, very spiffy! DIY-ing projects can save money and be gratifying... except when they become expensive and super aggravating. My partner and I are currently debating whether to hire someone to bury our gutter/sump pump drainage pipe (her vote), or whether I'm going to spend a weekend in the back yard wielding gravel and a shovel (my vote). Secretly, I hope she wins the argument. Anyway, congrats on powering through your troubles and getting a beautiful end result. Hopefully you'll feel a glow of pride every time you use your kitchen.1 point
