  2. @LindaTotally missed this, but happy one year to you. I have been sick with strep throat, but the covid test came back negative. The steroids are helping me recover and I can only imagine how this would be if I were still smoking. Anyway, congrats again and hope you celebrated well. ❤

  3. Hey everyone! Just wanted to say I'm still going smoke free and all. Have to look for a new apartment today - it's stressful, of course, so I'm making sure I have enough caffeine in my system for the day :)

  5. Just came to check on the board for a dose of strength. When the computer came on my screen saver was a three toed sloth. That is what I feel like today. Supposed to be doing a cook day but can't seem to make it off the couch. Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

  9. Thank you all for the support. Life and its challenges don't stop just because we quit. And as I try to remind myself, its a (f-cking) process not an event! But we do got this because it is a WE thing. @jillarHeaded over to the one year pledge! I NOPE daily but I am gonna just go ahead and nail this a-hole down. Potty mouth tonight-hope I do not offend.

  10. @KEL You are doing great!!! I know how hard it was for me!! I guess I'm a slow learner lol You have the determination to do this!! Hang in there and beat the nicotine monster!!! You got this!! I know what you mean about the triggers, smoking was always my go to when I had a problem. But we have to learn to deal other ways because smoking did not make the problem go away.

  14. Sorry for your loss @KEL It would be a great honor in memory of her to dedicate your 100 day quit to her tomorrow. I know that every time I hear of someone I know or knew passing away from a smoking related illness it strengthens my resolve to never light up again.

  16. Sorry to hear about your plumbing issues. I had those problems too. I disconnected the ice maker in the fridge and installed a pump type thing to deal with condensation from the air conditioner. I have been thinking of get the hot water heater replaced. I had to have it replaced 10 years ago. The weird thing was my husband had just passed. I lost his Mom 8 days later. I got up to a floor full of water in my bed/bathroom/ closet the morning of her service. Still stranger, when my FIL passed some15 years earlier the hot water heater in her home flooded the morning of his service. Now I have this fear of hot water heaters. I am afraid that if it blows I will lose another person I love. Am I crazy for constant worry about the hot water heater? The other thing on my mind tonight is I have a friend who is having some testing tomorrow. If you could keep this person in your prayers I would really appreciate it.

  20. Managed to eat reasonably yesterday without getting an upset tummy - all the previous disasters have helped get the right sequence of how to break a long fast. While the act of eating is very pleasant, the full belly feeling is not. You're almost waiting to feel that empty belly again. With a few months of OMAD, I feel the body becomes more efficient at processing food as well as dealing with lack of food during long fasts. For the next few months, it's maintenance mode which is ... 5 meals + 2 fast days a week.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
