@LindaTotally missed this, but happy one year to you. I have been sick with strep throat, but the covid test came back negative. The steroids are helping me recover and I can only imagine how this would be if I were still smoking. Anyway, congrats again and hope you celebrated well. ❤4 points

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say I'm still going smoke free and all. Have to look for a new apartment today - it's stressful, of course, so I'm making sure I have enough caffeine in my system for the day :)4 points

Just came to check on the board for a dose of strength. When the computer came on my screen saver was a three toed sloth. That is what I feel like today. Supposed to be doing a cook day but can't seem to make it off the couch. Hope everyone is enjoying their day!3 points

@maybaby66Hi there! I am an October 66 baby! So look at us @Gus! Welcome and it does get easier. Like above, there is always someone around on the site and we like nothing better than helping someone get free. It has the added benefit of helping us stay free! Look forward to getting to know you.2 points

Thank you all for the support. Life and its challenges don't stop just because we quit. And as I try to remind myself, its a (f-cking) process not an event! But we do got this because it is a WE thing. @jillarHeaded over to the one year pledge! I NOPE daily but I am gonna just go ahead and nail this a-hole down. Potty mouth tonight-hope I do not offend.2 points

@KEL You are doing great!!! I know how hard it was for me!! I guess I'm a slow learner lol You have the determination to do this!! Hang in there and beat the nicotine monster!!! You got this!! I know what you mean about the triggers, smoking was always my go to when I had a problem. But we have to learn to deal other ways because smoking did not make the problem go away.2 points

Sorry for your loss @KEL It would be a great honor in memory of her to dedicate your 100 day quit to her tomorrow. I know that every time I hear of someone I know or knew passing away from a smoking related illness it strengthens my resolve to never light up again.2 points

You are killing it! You have conquered more than one beast at a time. Not only have you quit smoking, you have worked hard on other things, like more exercise, watching your diet. You have travelled in a time most of us have stayed put. Let's face it you take on a challenge and get the job done. Congratulations!!1 point

Congratulations @Linda You are one of the ones I've been following very closely here on the train cuz your journey seems to be very similar to mine. I'm so happy and proud of you for making it the first year. I pray so hard that your journey gets easier from here on out. Now get on the Lido Deck and party!!1 point

Day 4 done. Less than 24 hrs left to next meal. There's absolutely no difference in energy etc after 4 days other than the belt is down another notch (but that is only until the next meal). Fresh fish didn't work out - the little place (and it IS little) is still closed for the holidays and opens next week. Got some fish from another place but it's not the same. The 1st meal after a long fast is usually a bit of a disappointment. You're looking forward to it a lot but the stomach can't really food. So you avoid eating all the things you REALLY want to eat and stay with safe (uninteresting) stuff that day and allow the stomach to get used to eating again. If the body is so comfortable with not eating 5 days, you have to wonder what is the limit. Perhaps I'll try 6 days in Apr. Ok, can't resist saying this again ... I'll eat tomorrow - feels like such a big thing1 point
