  12. tbh i found this site a couple of weeks before i signed up. normally i wouldn't have joined a site like this but having somewhere to piss and moan about the agony of suffering from my own stupidity is therapeutic. and having people that will help and not judge my stupidity does get me emotional. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who made this site possible.

  13. I just spent 15 min typing about the cravings I've been having today because it is such a nice cool, breezy day which is the type of day I would really enjoy hiking and a smoke. Deleted it all because it was rambling and I got through the craving anyway. Point is, if you are having a difficult time, get on here and type. Whether you keep what you type or delete it, just the act of typing can be enough to get you through a craving.

  15. I was basically an out of control chainsmoker, 2-3 packs a day, and started really thinking about it when I turned 50. Figured it was now or never! Found the old QSMB (quitsmokingmessageboard, now gone) and whyquit.com and they were both enormous resources. Between those two and the Allen Carr Easyway book I was able to beat my addiction. whyquit is a great resource to learn and understand WHY nicotine has such a grip on people. Lots of reading and understanding helped me defeat it for sure, and Easyway helped a ton too. It really helped me 'flip the switch' in my mind and break free. January 29 2013 I put out the last one, blew the smoke out the window and said "THATS IT - NO MORE!" And have been free every since. I was hopelessly addicted and never thought I was going to do it, so anyone struggling with it just believe you can do it because YOU CAN! Use this board and all the other stuff and you WILL! Good luck! Jon

  24. I did an extra half mile again, this evening, for a total of 5 miles today and even increased my incline again to 5.5% for the final 2 1/4 mi. Laps. Total calorie burn 675, about what I took in so far . I haven’t yet had my dinner.

  25. Typing and deleting works. And reading what others wrote, the joys, frustrations, long timers, newbies, anything. This place helps me ease my urges. Thanks. I’m hoping to find my way back here each and every time a weakness pops up. See….craving gone. There. It worked!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
