Thanks to all of you!! I am smoke free but look forward to the day I am crave free. That I do not think of it all. Just so grateful to the people here have given advice, support and overall kindness. You have made me laugh when I had no joy. You have taught me that we all have struggles and that gives you strength to keep on trying on not only my quit but other things as well! K4 points

Congratulations, Kris, on all the hard work and determination you put in to master months 1, 2, and 3!!! I also had craves that seemed to last forever, but eventually they faded into the background and stayed mostly out of sight.. You're doing fabulously!3 points

Between the rain and mud and a delayed shipment of materials, I've spent most of this "work" day staring at the wall.2 points

Try the beef brisket. You won't regret it. Don't ask for pork brisket in Texas. You might regret it.2 points

Katgirl, I wish I enjoyed watching sports. I only have watched in person when my son was involved when he was growing up. I was around it a lot, my husband and his family were big on the football. I was there but tucked in a corner with a good book. I miss those days, I was like a piece of furniture but I was with them! I loved them so much!2 points

Okay don't laugh but I joined some survey sites. They keep me focused on something else, I totally zone out, plus make a little cash and get some gift cards. Not much reward but does give me something to do with the old nicotine addicted brain. K2 points

Was pretty lazy yesterday: just lounged around watching football and stuff and never got out for a run. A reasonable food day, though, so that's good: for dinner, made some roasted (and then air fried) butternut squash cubes, corn on the cob, and more of the cabbage soup. The kids are even eating the cabbage soup, which is nice. My family often doesn't eat my veggie based dishes, and I've stopped fighting those battles: eat it if you want, I say, but I'm probably not going to make separate stuff for you (although I usually do anyway). I'll definitely run today.1 point

I often like to go with the underdog, but in this case deviled eggs are at stake so I'd play it safe1 point

Nothing wrong with that. I am watching a very close NF L game: Chargers vs Cowboys. Tie score with 3 minutes to go.1 point

Thanks, @Kris! I think that it helped actually! Sure there was a lot stress in starting a new job and meeting so many new people, but I was also so busy that I didn’t have time to even want a cigarette, except for a few days when I got off work. I was also too tired to have actually stopped somewhere to buy them. HaHa I saw a couple of days ago that a few people had mentioned volunteering for something somewhere. That really sounds like a grand idea, if you can do it!1 point

@Kris, try to do something you never smoked while doing. I never smoked in my car so I would hop in it when I got a strong crave and drive around the block! That's all I needed sometimes to get my mind off craving. Or try playing some games. I know its really hard to believe it right now but these shitty days will pass in time so hang in there1 point

all is going very well with my eyes, shots have been extended to 6 weeks instead of a month. my vision is so good they believe I do not need any prescription glasses. I was told I can stop the prescription eye drops and just use the lubricating dry relief over the counter ones when needed. It use to take a couple days after the shots for my eye to feel and see better but here I am 7 hours later and reading and writing, my eyes feel a little fatigued but not much more than that. Damn I am a happy camper.1 point

MQ posted this in another post and I need to put it somewhere that I can pop in and see it easily. ****"It doesn't matter if you feel like you want a cigarette, have a craving or a shitty day, the choice is always there."***** It may seem obvious to some in fact is sounds obvious to me but to my addicted body... it isn't. Hehe. Silly body!! Not one puff ever. It doesn't matter how bad you (me) really want a cigarette. You don't smoke. Period. Period. Period! It. doesn't. matter. You. don't. smoke. (((Holski)))1 point

My mother got settled in at a rehab facility the other day so I was able to come home yesterday. It's a long, boring drive (8 hours) so even though I listen to talking books, I do sometimes wish I had a cigarette to break the monotony. At one point I stopped to get gas and use the restroom. As I was leaving the store I was looking around a bit. The clerk caught my eye and asked if she could help me. I said, "Yes. Tell me no." She looked puzzled and wary but said, "No." I said, "Thank you." Then I continued, "I quit smoking some months ago but I saw your sign advertising cigarettes for $3.25 a pack. So I was thinking..." She immediately caught on and said, "NO!! Absolutely not!! Get out of this store right now!" So I did. We both had a good laugh over the exchange. I probably would not have bought any cigarettes, but for certain sure that clerk would not have sold me any even if I wanted them. That's what I call good customer service! :)1 point
