  10. A woman finally divorces her abusive husband and decides she's ready to date again. She places a personal add in the newspaper asking for a man who would never lay a hand on her, never walk out on her, and be good in bed. A week goes by when the woman hears her door bell ring... She answers the door and sees a man without arms or legs. She asks how she can help him. He replies that he is answering her add from the paper. Woman says: but you have no arms. Man says: I'll never lay a hand on you. Woman says: but you have no legs. Man says: I'll never walk out on you. Woman says: But without any arms or legs how will you be good in bed? Man says: How do you think i rang the doorbell?

  13. I argued against it, too. The 8/ 16 method is safe, in my view: eating all meals in an 8 hour window, and fasting for 16 hours. A one hour window, or going full days without eating, is madness. Just one healthcare professional’s opinion.

  14. It should be cool enough to walk outside, early in the morning and an hour before sundown. I live in northern CA, and now we have smoke from the fires to deal with. So, I am fortunate to have my treadmill, and central AC. I generally do my workout about 4 PM. Interestingly, no doctor has ever suggested I lose weight. I definitely need to, but they never bring it up. Weird!

  15. Anything to keep the Doctor off my back. I lost 25#s for her, now I have gained most of it back due to the quit. I will be happy when it cools off and I can walk again. K

  16. (Just for fun) I am going to tell all Doctors I am not overweight, I just seem to be heavy because I am pure muscle. My friend Ace explained it to me and I was so relieved! K

  17. Hi all! It has been a while since I visited this forum. However, the other day a family member asked me how long it was since I quitted and wow, I knew it had been already four years but I no longer remembered the exact date and forgot to celebrate. I guess this has two interpretations, either dementia is coming or the lack of struggle makes you forget.... In any case, for those who are quitting, or planning, or having a hard time, you can totally make it and then even forget about it. Of course I remember sometimes (especially when I smell someone's else smoke, but now it is only a nice feeling thinking how free I am that I no longer have to smoke. So go for it, you can totally make it, and this community will help, so keep discussing, and NOPEing everyday. All the best! g.

  20. Headed to Laguna Coast this morning to mountain bike the bike course for Xterra triathlon in a few weeks. There's some brutal climbs right away- about 4.5 miles up a ridge to the top then another 5 miles of up n down. Very challenging trails but i've put in the work and enjoyed the ride. Looks like i'll be riding plenty of hills next few weeks to prepare.

  22. Running the Xterra off-road triathlon in Laguna Beach in 5 weeks. A nice 1/4 mile swim in the Pacific then 15 grueling miles of mountain biking then a 4k trail run to the finish line. Next few weeks i'll be spending time on the mountain bike climbing hills https://xterralagunabeach.com/eventinfo/

  23. I had a solid swim considering I haven't raced anything in over 7 years! First few hundred yards my heart rate was high but then I focused on relaxing and had an awesome swim rest of the way. Finished about middle of the pack which I was happy with. Thanks for all the luck!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
