  1. My quit is not in crisis , just no idea where to put this . Perhaps it might help someone here . My quit is fine , it's safe , its strong , but addiction can be deceiving and unpredictable . It caught me off gaurd once and it cost me dearly . I learned though and I won't let it happen again . One puff is never enough . I think this SoS thread is a life saver . I committed to nope for a reason so I will stick with nope . When I feel l may give up or give in , I know I have the tools , resources , support and strength to get me through one more day. I am stronger than I think . I will reach out if I must . I can predict with absolute certainty there will be 0 percent percent chance of smoking at my house today . I don't do that any more. Today is another scorcher. Rain in the forecast ? Unpredictable most days . Stay safe , stay healthy , stay active . Heading out for my walk .

  3. Linda, I feel for you. It can be very difficult when you and only you can make the decision. The stress can drive you crazy and I to would want to smoke. You are doing so well, don't do it. I am only 3 weeks in. I am lucky I have not had any big decisions to make or I might have smoked. If you can take more time to think about it you will be more at ease coming to the decision. K

  11. Completely agree, the NOPE pledge has been a huge help in the quit and having the S.O.S. there is a comfort. I also walk early in the morning especially since the 116 degree day a couple of weeks ago, nice now.

  12. Had a great time, it started out about 105 and kept getting hotter, Monday got the youngers together with airsoft rifles and let them go at it. Tuesday we all flopped out in the air conditioning, burnt out from the heat and sun. Wednesday I got the work that needed to be done done Thursday headed home, finally stopped at Peggy sues %0s dinner for breakfast. all went great all had fun and we ate very well Bacon wrapped Shrimp and sea scallops, fantastic rib eye steak and teriyaki spam and pineapple cabobs. Still feeling the results of the heat ended up Thursday 119, it was 100 at 530am

  17. Really struggling today Have some personal decisions to make, that I'm not sure how to handle. I know smoking will not make them any easier, but my nicotine monster is really screaming one won't hurt!!! I know that is a lie been there done that I know where that will go. Sometimes I hate being the responsible adult. I just need to decide what I really want and my choice is not an easy one. Thanks again!! I am the official RANTER on this sight. Is there a badge for that?? lol

  18. Hang tough in there Linda. You have come so far to let go now. all will be better shortly and you will still have the quit. Better times are ahead. Try to think positive and I know that is easier said than done from my own situation. I tell myself most everyday to look for that silver lining and it is not always that simple but hang in there. It is worth it. best wishes.

  38. NOTE TO SELF Share your story even (especially) the scary, ugly parts. Because it's real and it matters. And when you send it out into the world, you are giving someone else the power to do the same

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
