  9. Where you see yourself a year from now , may be a key to success . Do you see yourself as an Ex smoker ? What would that look like , feel like ? What freedoms would you have that you haven't had because of smoking ? Envision those. See that person in the mirror every morning and don't walk away and forget who you are . You deserve to be quit , to have that rebirth and new beginning . Quitting smoking took years off my life and smoking takes years off our lives . There are two sides to every story and every conflict . Smoking has two sides too . What side will you believe ? Will you only hear one side ? The cigarette comes disguised. Freedom does not . Discern the two when a crave overwhelms you . Are you listening to addiction or to your heart . What's the goal here ? What is smoking doing for you ? Write the pros and cons . A suggestion : Choose a day once a month and write the pros and cons of smoking for six months . Post them on your mirror . Mark the changes you've noted in yourself every month for the first six months . If you want , do it a year . I'm sure some of the things you thought were good reasons to keep smoking will be moved to the other side . If you still feel like smoking makes your life better I will be quite surprised . Come back and tell me . Give yourself that . You owe it to yourself to experience a taste of freedom and once you do you will want more . You can fight amongst the thorns of addiction that want to suck you in then spit you out or you can be at peace with yourself in a smoke free world . Look in in the mirror and see that beautiful person you are inside and out .

  17. slow down every now and again, slip into a warm bath with soft music in the back ground. Lie back and let your mind slip out of your body, go to the places that make you happy, make you smile where love flows as warm and full as the water you filled the bath with. Now close your eyes feel the warmth around you and listen to this. Remember the day magnum PI died? I still have a VHS recording

  28. Daddy, did you love your cigarettes More then you loved me or did I do something wrong? I wish you could have seen my dress Mommy said I looked so pretty. You could have pined my flowers on The night I went to prom Daddy, did you love your cigarettes More then you loved me? Mommys got a new boy friend She says its to hard to be alone. Are you lonely daddy or dose Jesus Keep you company ? Daddy did you love your cigarettes More then you loved me and mom ? I wish you would have walked me down the isle And brushed away my fears, told me no matter what I would always be your little girl. Daddy did you love your cigarettes More then you loved me? His name is Jacob ,just like you His eyes sparkle blue in wonder Why dosent he have a grandpa To take him fishing or to the zoo Like all the other boys do Did you love your cigarettes daddy Were they really worth it - all that you’ve been missing? Dose Jesus keep you company and give you all my letters

  29. I watched Allen Carr's video so many times I can't remember. Also watched all the sad stories of people whose lives were destroyed by nicotine. I didn't "get it" for a long time. I tried so many times to quit that I don't remember. Sometimes made it a day, a week, sometimes a month. Eventually, I really got it. I found my real reason, a strong enough "why." It was Covid. If I'd gotten the disease as a smoker, I'd have had a poor chance of living. Find your "why." Then you'll quit. And stay quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
