The thing I hated most about the early days of my quit was obsessing over cigarettes and smoking. Now I'm thankful for those obsessive thoughts. They were a pain in the ass but also forced me to realize how my addiction had come to be front-and-center in my life.. The truth will set you free. It might smack you on the side of the head a few times, but will eventually set you free.

Oh! How appropriate, on counting (@Robbie) For former smokers not celebrating a major milestone today So, Wednesday. Week 2 I feel steady in quitting. I consider myself lucky, I know it could’ve easily been a totally different experience. Imagine if I’d continued smoking, making quitting harder every day. Iehw iehw iehw. The slavery! oh man, I’ve really done such a stupid thing (not mad at myself here, to be clear). Just the realization that I really actually truly lit up after all that time. I thought I knew what it was all about. And yet.... so... ignorant. Stupid friggin' addiction.
  6. Testicle Therapy Two women were playing golf. One teed off and watched in horror as her ball headed directly toward a foursome of men playing the next hole. The ball hit one of the men. He immediately clasped his hands together at his groin, fell to the ground and proceeded to roll around in agony. The woman rushed down to the man, and immediately began to apologize. 'Please allow me to help. I'm a Physical Therapist and I know I could relieve your pain if you'd allow me’, she told him. 'Oh, no, I'll be all right. I'll be fine in a few minutes,' the man replied. He was in obvious agony, lying in the foetal position, still clasping his hands there at his groin. At her persistence, however, he finally allowed her to help. She gently took his hands away and laid them to the side, loosened his pants and put her hands inside. She administered tender and artful massage for several long moments and asked, 'How does that feel'? He replied: It feels great, but I still think my thumb's broken! 😆

I think you guys @reciprocity are smart there with the three week window . We only have two and quite likely will be fully open in a couple weeks . The delta virus is still concerning . Guess time will tell because we are talking rodeos , concerts , foot ball games it's pretty close to prior to covid .Try tracing after those if delta breaks loose though . I think travel is the issue and should not be opening yet . It seems to have been the problem all along . The pic is it near Scottsdale ? Was looking to vacation in that area. I used to hate flying too @Katgirl now I'll take it anyway to get there fast if I wanna get away from Canadian winter but hate being a lone traveller , that causes me anxiety . Nothing like a slow paced site seeing road trip too with no time limits . Those are sweet . Continue to stay safe all .
  8. Warming up here in So Cal also but not quite as bad as Katgirl's neighborhood. I've been acclimating pretty well to the heat- so far so good. I make sure to constantly hydrate- all day and not just at exercise time. Also make sure to stay aware of sweat rate during my rides & runs- when you stop sweating thats bad news. Stay healthy happy & smoke free!
  9. That is awesome Reynjoe! Reward yourself often and steadily keep travelling that journey. Know we are here to hold you up if you need help along the way.

  11. G’day Bloody good job on that steak. Away on holidays at this time.....mmm miss my Bbq now seeing this....
  12. I stumbled across Sean Rowe totally by chance. First video I watched of his was "I'll Follow Your Trail." It's a great song and I heard it for the first time only a few weeks before my daughter was born. Sometimes a song really hits home...not gonna lie, I get a bit emotional listening to this one.
  13. @Mac#23, No, I have a lot of experience on dating sites. I would say that there is a problem of dishonesty, using old pics, etc, but don’t you think it’s because people are afraid of mot being accepted for who they are? Can I catfish you?😂
  14. Is there a catfishing catch and release program?
  15. I don't get it and I've read it before and after having an edible😋

@MLMR, you're doing well. Glad you went right back to quit. Why not create a ticker to help count the days and cigs not smoked.
  20. That is wonderful news Reynjoe!
  21. Nope... Not even a consideration

Interesting thinking about relapses; as MLMR pointed out, being a smoker is a whole lifestyle. There's the worrying about running out of cigarettes, the ashtrays, the lighters (I can't imagine how much time I wasted searching for lighters in my handbags!) the smell EVERYWHERE, looking for opportunities to smoke etc. I used to move away from people who didn't smoke because I knew that I smelled bad and I was embarrassed. Always emptying ashtrays...phew! I am 70 days quit today woo hoo! Someone asked me why I was still counting the days; well at this point it's because I am proud of my achievement and adding and extra day or week to my quit gives me encouragement to keep going. Whatever gets you through! All the best MLMR, it's worth doing again.
