Thank you. Today wasn't the easiest. I didn't have any nicotine cravings but I did have a bit of an altercation with a family member who is quitting both nicotine and MJ. They chose this to be their day 1 too. I'm not sure if that's the best idea but I will be sure to tread carefully tomorrow and not upset them. This was quite unsettling emotionally but this is life and putting a rolled up thing with bits in your mouth and putting fire to it won't change a darn thing. At 15hoo I just couldn't focus on anything more and I felt SO tired. It's quite cold today so it was good to get in to bed. Fell asleep straight away and slept for an hour. I'm really pleased I'm not wanting it. Oh and I had a peppermint chocolate and put a tsp of sugar in my chai latte. This is not like me, I'm more of a savoury person, but it's all good. In about 4 hours it will be day one dusted. Already I can feel my breathing is a lot easier and deeper. In my soul I feel happy. @Mee This forum is definitely my new addiction xx5 points

Glad you're listening to your body @PeachFuzz and giving it what it needs (sugar). It's hard at work repairing the damage smoking caused so if it needs fluids, drink. Sweets, have a candy, etc...4 points

Well this morning is slow moving . Blah ! Blah ! Every excuse in the world not to go for a walk but none that are real convincing even to myself lol so I'll get my rear in gear in 25 minutes and head out for my walk . If I would have had one slice of toast instead of two I wouldn't have to walk so far lol . Must think of that before eating more than is necessary for good physical and mental health lol . The positive is that it is a gorgeous day out . The leaves may actually fully bloom with the rain coming tomorrow . Yay !4 points

Day 17... Normally I would of bought a carton of cigs today. Today instead I bought Omega 3 supplements. I would like to say there were not a couple days of extreme anxiety on and off through the day (I hate this anxiety...I hate feeling like I so fragile and on the verge of tears) .....but there were. I keep hanging in because I believe it will get better and today has been an ok day (I will take it)3 points

Here in the U.S. we have a sizable minority that belief vaccines are [insert conspiracy theory here], and won't have anything to do with them. Personally, I hold that getting vaccinated is a civic duty and a benchmark of average intelligence. Seems a lot of folks won't believe there is an pandemic unless they have to step over bodies in the street. My thanks to all those who took the time to get immunized.3 points

45 minutes weight training done this morning. I'm going to need to have consistent hard exercise to keep my endorphins, dopamine and serotonin elevated, as those extra "dopamine bursts" from smoking will no longer be occuring. Wishing you all a happy and healthy day 🏋♀3 points

At this point I got angry. At myself. How did allow something to get so much control over me that it had me curled up under blankets, tears streaming down my face, sobbing and shaking uncontrollably?! It was also during this time that I recognized and realized that I was a frickin addict. As bad as any hard core junkie you could meet. I literally allowed nicotine to control my whole life. Every aspect. For 35 years! I’m with you girl. I know how you are feeling. Do not let it control you again. This will pass. It gets better. I promise. It gets better.2 points

They say you are pretty safe after the first shot. I think we are only at 35% vaccinated and appts for vaccines have slowed. I hope they start the covid passport for travel. Let all those Nay sayers sit home!2 points

The wife is due to get her first shot this Friday. In Canada they're delaying the second shot for up to 4 months so they can get as many vaccinated with the 1st shot as soon as possible. Hope they're right in saying that delay is OK. Send the antivaxxers to India for a week if they need to see bodies in the street. Far as I'm concerned, after the majority of people who want to be vaccinated have been then it's those that didn't get a vaccination who will be at risk. There's potential consequences to whatever choice one makes. I choose vaccination and I[m fine with accepting any potential consequences.2 points

I was Pfizer'd. Second dose back on the 26th had me feeling...weird. No overt symptoms, but not quite right either. Kinda like the The UK Roundabout Appreciation Society or the Dill Pickle club. Wife got Maderna'd. She got her first dose not too long ago. While waiting in the observation area we had somebody pass out. That sparked some excitement. Only thing my better half experienced was a painful arm which lingered into the next day.1 point
