  1. Just a reminder myself and for all . When does the load get so heavy you crash ? Do you give in . No . You don't have to like how things are. You can feel like the pain is unbearable , you can be completely alone in life's trials and you can feel like smoking will help , but smoking won't make anything better . SmokIng won't change a dang thing . Smoking is the wrong action to take . No matter where you are in your quit day 1 or 10,001 if you give addiction permission it will take that thought and run with it so just remember smoking is not the answer . Never Ever . Distract , delay , discuss , take deep breathes , drink water , don't smoke , don't give up . Do something different , do keep the faith , do post , don't smoke .

  4. Ugh. I chose nicotine patches to assist me through my initial quit because of my history with anxiety and panic attacks. I skipped the stage 1 (21mg) and started with the stage 2 (14mg) patches even though I was a 2 pack a day smoker because I figured I could handle it and I did. It was rough, but I persevered. Today is my first day on the stage 3 (7mg) patches and I am feeling tense. I don’t have the urge to smoke at all, but it’s like a constant state of low agitation that is starting to wear on me. I’m doing everything I’ve done so far to help me get through the roughest parts of my quit, but I’m realizing it’s mental, not physical. And so I am on another tangent, berating myself because I am so weak-minded. So not in control of my mental state. I’m just speaking the trials of my journey. Maybe one day someone will read this and say, ‘But that’s me. I’m not alone in this battle. Others have fought the same fight. And won!’ Because I will. You will see. Stay on the train. And you will see.

  15. You've already proven your strength by conquering battles from the past so don't let the one that you're fighting now make you feel absolutely hopeless or any less stronger do not fear what lies ahead and continue to keep your head up and you will be victorious once again!!!!!

  17. OMG! I just got around to rewarding myself for my 6 week quit and it was with an ice cold Coca~Cola!!! I’ve been decaffeinating this week so when I started drinking and that sweet burn hit my tongue and the back of my throat it made my eyes water!! HaHa Like it was my first Coke ever! Definitely the best reward I’ve given myself to date!

  20. Added cinnamon and chromium to my supplements and man they did make a difference. my thoughts are getting sharper and my energy levels are going up. I take the cinnamon in caplets and in my Tea and coffee and the chromium by a caplet, the results are better absorption of blood sugar into the cells. My Doctor says he has had patients that were able to stop all diabetes meds and maintained healthy sugar levels just using the Cinnamon and Chromium, My diet is simple lean meats cheese and veggies, still have toast in the mornings sour dough, seven seed bread Buck wheat bread The biggest change was Pasta, Pasta had to go, and I love Pasta. There are options but I need it to be simple and not feel like I am being denied anything, otherwise I wont stick to it. Doctor was very impressed that I was able to drop my A1C 5 points in 90 days and we know the incentive for that was getting my eyes fixed. so Hopeful late May early Juke I will have my new lens installed ! Some things that most would conceder hirable events or xatastrfies could work out for some as a awakening such as my Brother was just saying the other day the time he spent in prison was the pivot point in his life, for me it was my heart attack or incident. Both could have been our demise but we were able to seek and pull the good out of these events and draw on positive aspects. We both improved our self's and our situations. What's that ? God works in mysterious ways ? Naa we just had a messed up mind set and it took a real good kick in the Arse to get us to see it and change. Anyone else have that Life changing moment ? I think those stories would be very interesting

  26. Well from what I have watched and read Cataract surgery is like cooking Abalone it take hours to prepare to cook and only a couple minutes to cook. So it looks like 15 / 20 minutes an eye, less than an hour to have my sight back. Maintain my current eating habits and Ill be Non diabetic and 200 lbs or less by the end of the year. WATCH ME SHINE !

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
