Ugh. I can actually FEEL things inside changing. I say ugh, this is good I know, but it feels so weird. I feel hugely over aware of my insides right now. My lungs are filling up with air so lovely and easily but also feel like they need a jet wash, there's a creaky raspiness there, what feels like a vibrating sensation in my side and a cough starting. Oh and my nose is running. Lovely. This broadcast has been brought to you by "Wow you're attractive today" productions. In association with "Gallon of tea and self pity" incorporated.7 points

Yay @Mac#23, you're now just one short month away from one year quit! I hope you're planning something special5 points

You've poisoned your body every day for years and now you haven't for over 2 weeks. Your lungs and all your other airways have decided to start purging that coating of gunk that's been building up on everything. The human body is amazing at healing itself once you stop trying to kill it. Tea is good. Extra water is good at this point too, will help break up mucus. Keep the tissues handy and hack it all up! In with the good (fresh air) out with the bad (all that gunk)5 points

NOPE Ach, cigarettes are no longer a problem. Beer is a bit of a problem. But not for long. If you can quit smoking, you can quit anything. The important is to quit the cigarettes. Those are those ones that will kill you. Invest in stocks invest instead. I quit 85% in 6 month. You can never get back what you spend on cigarettes.4 points

Really enjoyed the walk - tackled some uphills aswell and that felt good. Have definitely settled into the day now and will probably be less anxious for the rest of it. Day at a time! Even a minute at a time if that's what it takes at points.4 points

G’day Yep, I remember that, part of the healing is to cough up a few fur balls.... Your lungs do that now for a very good reason..... they can!4 points

Enjoy it while you can, Carpe. Soon enough the brain fog will disappear, the lethargy may stick around a little longer but will also abandon you, sleep improves, etc. The insane need to eat everything in sight (or not in sight) may outlast other symptoms. The new boring normal will be a person who thinks clearly, breathes easily and deeply, may go for long walks/ runs/ bike rides without going out of breath and is generally a healthier, more energetic person - how incredibly boring.4 points

Hi all sorry I’ve not posted for a bit I’ve had a bit of illness to deal with which went on for Christmas into feb (not Covid) either way all is good on the non smoking front. Before posting I had to work out how long it’s been . I think it’s 3 years 8 months. I hope this gives encouragement to those joining the path especially during such difficult times, when you have to work out how long it’s been your not doing badly. I hope your all well within your quits and dealing with any Covid issues. It seems we are making good progress here in the U.K. at the moment and long may It continue. Wherever you are in the world stay strong with your quit and stay safe X ⚒3 points

Linda, I think this is an age thing also. As we mature, the less we want to deal with drama. Some people just love to stir the pot and cause misery!3 points

Replacing something that will kill you (smoking) with something that's good for you (walking).....how smart is that? I'd say it's brilliant!3 points

I definitely have had more moments like that - so very lethargic and miserable! I think today I was tired of sitting and analysing my innards and thought right well let's see if a walk kills us then. Obviously it didn't and I was far less breathless on the steep hill than I would have been previously. Tomorrow who knows how motivated or not I will be - but we are all brilliant for doing it aren't we. It's bloody hard Thank you Jillar really appreciate yours and everyones kind words of support. Back at you - bunch of superheroes on this forum. I bet a lot of people wouldn't have got as far without this warmth and advice.3 points

I think I am going to bundle up and have a reluctant walk in the fresh air. I am sulking a bit and that won't do anything3 points
