Bumping this one as a reminder to be patient with the process. We spent years feeding our addiction and conditioning our minds with cigarettes. The good news is: I don't even remember the last time I craved a cigarette. Not smoking is no longer a challenge. Smoking a cigarette is unimaginable at this point in my quit. And my "Quit Day %" is only around twenty-percent now. Viewed in the proper perspective, we can undo decades of damage in a comparatively short amount of time.4 points

Its not you wanting a cigarette Linda, its your addiction wanting a fix! Keep denying it. You are in charge, not your addiction2 points

I think I expected the healing to happen a lot more quickly and that I would notice things changing every day. I just underestimated how subtle and slow the change process is. Reflecting on it later, it all made sense because I had repeated these connections between my actions and smoking every single day for decades so it's only logical it takes time to re-establish new connections with your daily routine once you quit. I'm just glad the nonsmoker changes didn't take decades Keep moving forward Linda because you're making progress whether you realize it every day or not.2 points

OK this morning wasn't the glorious awakening I should of had, but not to be denoed my great day I deserve I suck it up and get up an hour early. Make Breakfast for my Mom and I and it is wonderful sausage and Taters peppered, tasty and tender morsels, coffee rich and aromatic and tons of time to get ready, let me OOOOOss into my Day. Showered Happy and on my way to work and oooh no my morning movement is calling and calling NOW. I make it to work in the nick of time and spell relief. Again not to be denied my great day I figure that I am at least a couple of pounds lighter and have a spring in my step. And now off to make My living. you are probalbly wondering what this has to do with my quit or smoking at all, well here it is. After yesterdays hard and demanding urges and me being able to use my tools to over come them I thought to my self why leave my tool bag in the closet ? I should have it with me ready to fix any situation, such as a not so good start to my morning. I took the negatives and if I couldn't find a positive twist on them I simply did not allow them the power to mess up my day or to bum me out.. I kept looking for the sunny warm good feeling day and I finally did find it. Make your Day, don't let the day make you !2 points

It will Linda, keep yourself occupied, and your mind off smoking. I remember those days, when it seemed smoking was all I thought about, and wondered if it would ever end. It does, but you need to stay focussed and determined. Better days will come for sure.1 point

Hi Deb: Not yet, we postponed the trip a week. worried about the road to the ranch being flooded and unpassable. This Monday is the get going day, Monday thru Thursday,. Man I love it up there, so many animals, deer, Turkey, wild Boar, quail Beautiful. Rolling Green hills, sections of wooded area surrounded by meadows. Wake up to turkeys gobbling and the thunder flapping of there wings coming of of there roost, the fawns will eat out of your hand just amazing place to be. Its going to be a bit different this time, only two of us and I will be in my camper by my self, so I will have a retreat if necessary. I am absolutely not purchasing any smoking or vaping products to go with me, so crave or not I will not have anything to smoke, ( can't smoke what you don't have ) Yes Jim it has been a long time and I am happy no one has gotten to spank you with wet noodles. You have always been a rock. This time around I have been given a real good reason and an inspiration to keep my quit and no matter what i felt about smoking I value my life much more. I do so appreciate you all and am proud to refer Quit train to Others. and also appreciate being able to come back when I have lapsed without being Judged, I hope to share in the inspiration and strength you all provide.1 point
