Thanks, everyone. I’m feeling better this morning. Even though I felt like I was going to die yesterday...I didn’t! I’m sure there will be more days ahead of me like yesterday, but hopefully they’ll be fewer and farther between. Thanks again for the support!8 points

Four years ago I decided I'd had enough. I decided that I wasn't going to go out the same way my Old Man did at the age of 56 with lung cancer. That was it. It was my decision and my commitment. Once I'd made that decision, it was a done deal. I knew I would never smoke again, and I haven't. It wasn't easy at first, but it's easy now. I rarely even think about smoking anymore and when I do, it's such a far away memory it doesn't even seem real. It also terrifies me to think about what I would feel like if I'd kept smoking. The toll those 30,000+ cigarettes I would have smoked would have had on my body. To be honest, I sometimes wonder if I'd still be alive if I hadn't quit. I loved cigarettes as much as anyone else and if I was able to quit, you can too. If you're struggling, toughen up and stick with it. I promise it will be worth it! NOPE!3 points

Those really bad days will be fewer and farther between the farther you go with your quit Judi. Congratulations on getting through yesterday. Those tough battles we fight and win become medals of honor to be worn proudly3 points

Have you tried the JAC (Jillar's air cigarette)? You just pretend you're holding an actual cigarette in your fingers and then go through the motions of "smoking" it. Some people use cut straws, pen shells, even licorice! It did a great job of tricking my brain into thinking it was getting the real thing and the crave would pass.3 points

Oh my goodness, I’m sorry if it sounded like that’s what I was saying; I certainly was not. I just meant I was having trouble understanding and following the board; that’s all I meant. Probably my foggy brain.2 points

Well, it looks like your post is fine. Hang tough Judi. Looking at your ticker, you have made it through the tough month. Once you get the nicotine out of your system, it is a matter of redirecting the smoking thoughts. Try to stay as busy as your can and just tell yourself you are not going there. You can do this. You will become stronger every day!2 points
