Hi Teammates! I want to share my newest milestone. During the Christmas holiday season, I stressed a lot, thought I was going to smoke. I reached out to my support groups until I connected with someone positive. I didn't worry if I was getting on someone's nerves; all I cared about was not smoking. I had to do what I had to do, and I’ll do it again.3 points

I hope you get some help with your coughing issues when you go to the clinic. If it doesn't feel right to you, you should get it checked out. Especially with everything that is going around right now. Day 5 is behind me also. It was a little better day for me too. I pray that tomorrow is as good. I'm spending a lot of time using distractions to get past the urges and cravings. An air cigarette made out of a straw, hard candy, etc.. Sometimes all I need to do is just change what I'm doing, or where I'm at in the house for a little while. For as severe as they can be at times, they really don't last that long. Take Care! Welcome aboard the Quit Train Prichy. The rules are the same as they were when you quit ten years-ago. Rule #1: DON'T SMOKE! Rule #2: If you have any further questions refer back to Rule #1. Quitting smoking is simple. Challenging but simple.2 points

Congratulations IQ4me that's awesome! If you want even more inspiration like that consider putting a ticker in your signature. You'll be able to watch all the time, money saved and cigarettes NOT smoked add up. I loved logging in each day and looking at mine. Welcome aboard prichy, man that's a long quit you gave up but given the current circumstances we're in I can understand. Our addiction will look for any way in! I think you must have forgotten that one is never enough for a nicotine addict as you're seeing now. I credit a lot of my success on being surrounded with fellow quitters who knew what I was going through at any time in my quit. I stayed glued to the forum and made such good bonds with people that letting them down by relapsing was the last thing I wanted to do. My suggestion to you is stick close, go back to basics and NOPE each day. Its a promise to yourself that just for today you will not smoke. So now that you're here I hope you start your quit right away. We're here for you pretty much 24/7 so reach out if you need to.1 point

Welcome to the site, @prichy I'm sorry to hear about your relapse. 10 years quit was a great accomplishment. Yes, Coronavirus has impacted so many people in such different ways but smoking will not make anything better. You successfully stopped smoking for 10 years but now is the time to quit for good. You can't fix what happened in the past so don't dwell on it. Just focus on quitting for good. You must have seen some sort of positive in order to go back to lighting up. Please believe that there is nothing positive to be gained from smoking. Please visit the link below that gives you tips as to how to use this site and read up on some quitting resources. I'm sorry for your relapse but you can still quit for good. Stick around this site. There is a lot of knowledge and support here.1 point

If you have any concerns always seek your Dr advice ....if anything it will ease your mind .... I didn't cough up anything either when I quit ....everyone is different ...1 point

Yes, the headache could be caused by the coughing for sure. I think going to the dr is always a good idea after quitting if for nothing else then to get all the kudos for quitting I didn't have a cough when I quit. I coughed plenty when I smoked but I did have a lot of throat clearing. As long as what's coming up isn't yellow, green or brown it's more than likely just your lungs doing their job of ridding all that gunk. But again, never hurts to get checked out. You guys are all doing great and almost done with hell week, yay1 point

Interesting. I have always only had 1 cup of coffee a day, very rarely 2, but I have drank quite a lot of diet Pepsi. I'll try cutting that down Today, day 5, is a teeny tiny bit better than yesterday. I still am wheezing and coughing a lot. Thinking that may be part of the headache problem too. Funniest thing I'm just realizing is that my "addict brain" keeps trying to convince me if I smoke I'll stop coughing. Ha!! Nothing could be further from the truth. Might go to a walk in medical clinic tomorrow to see if some antibiotics might help. Stay with us Jeff!!1 point
