  3. Hi Teammates! I want to share my newest milestone. During the Christmas holiday season, I stressed a lot, thought I was going to smoke. I reached out to my support groups until I connected with someone positive. I didn't worry if I was getting on someone's nerves; all I cared about was not smoking. I had to do what I had to do, and I’ll do it again.

  5. Good job IQ. Each cigarette not smoked is a win. Multiply that by 3,000 and we're talking some serious success.

  6. I hope you get some help with your coughing issues when you go to the clinic. If it doesn't feel right to you, you should get it checked out. Especially with everything that is going around right now. Day 5 is behind me also. It was a little better day for me too. I pray that tomorrow is as good. I'm spending a lot of time using distractions to get past the urges and cravings. An air cigarette made out of a straw, hard candy, etc.. Sometimes all I need to do is just change what I'm doing, or where I'm at in the house for a little while. For as severe as they can be at times, they really don't last that long. Take Care! Jeff

  10. Welcome aboard the Quit Train Prichy. The rules are the same as they were when you quit ten years-ago. Rule #1: DON'T SMOKE! Rule #2: If you have any further questions refer back to Rule #1. Quitting smoking is simple. Challenging but simple.

  14. Congratulations IQ4me that's awesome! If you want even more inspiration like that consider putting a ticker in your signature. You'll be able to watch all the time, money saved and cigarettes NOT smoked add up. I loved logging in each day and looking at mine. 19. Optimism and motivation are good, but they are too fickle to be counted on. This is why making a commitment is so important. Even when you feel unmotivated and pessimistic, you keep trudging forward. Not because you feel like it, but because you're on a mission. Some days you grab the quit by the balls and swing it around. Other days, you just punch the clock and do the work.

  20. It's clear so nothing too bad I'm sure. I've had coughing issues for years, COPD, but now it's definitely a little worse, cough not as productive either. I'll keep you posted after I go.

  21. If you have any concerns always seek your Dr advice ....if anything it will ease your mind .... I didn't cough up anything either when I quit ....everyone is different ...

  22. Yes, the headache could be caused by the coughing for sure. I think going to the dr is always a good idea after quitting if for nothing else then to get all the kudos for quitting I didn't have a cough when I quit. I coughed plenty when I smoked but I did have a lot of throat clearing. As long as what's coming up isn't yellow, green or brown it's more than likely just your lungs doing their job of ridding all that gunk. But again, never hurts to get checked out. You guys are all doing great and almost done with hell week, yay

  26. So in addition to the bouncy house across the street, my neighbors are also doing a drive by happy birthday parade for the little girl. And I'm thinking of taking advantage of it by posting this in my window and seeing what happens.....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
