Oh no Kdad. I always looked at you as my quit buddy. We quit about the same time. You have to just stop. I know life sucks right now with covid, but don't let it pull you down. Now is not the time to have unhealthy lungs. Concentrate on how wonderful and less costly it was when you were quit. I hope to see you noping again and coming here for support. We are hear for you.6 points

I'm sorry to hear this, Kdad. There really is NOTHING good that comes from smoking but it is, obviously, super addictive. That is why NOPE is the way to go. You really have to adhere to that. One puff screws everything up. You can't do anything about the past, though. Focus on quitting for good now. You were successful for 2 years so this is the time to quit for good. Read back up on nicotine addiction here and participate. Please reach out here and post an SOS if you are about to smoke. Life is much better without cigarettes but it does take commitment. You can do this!5 points

You've done it before successfully so you KNOW you can do it again. Work on getting your mindset straight and aimed at another run for the quit. Don't dwell in the past or feel sorry for yourself because of what happened and don't let that affect your energy for this next quit but never forget what it was that pushed you to start again. I suspect complacency or romancing the cigarette and figuring you could have just one for old time sake? Whatever it was it's done now. Time to move forward. You know there's only ever one rule ..... NOPE!5 points

Aw man kdad, sorry to read you relapsed. Like mee said, stick close and get back to the basics of quitting 101. You've been through this part before so you already know that this bad crave WILL pass and you also know you can do this!5 points

Well, put on your big boy pants and get to climbing, friend. The rules haven't changed... I hope every one of those cigarettes tasted like a smelly elephant butt. Glad you're back tho...you can't let the addiction win.4 points

Sorry to hear that you relapsed Kdad. I did the same thing a couple of years ago after just over two years quit. This addiction sucks! You can never allow yourself to become complacent. Just do whatever you have to do to stay quit. I had a very difficult time sticking with cold turkey the second time around. The patch ended up helping me to get over the hump but I wasted way too much time before I tried it. No smoke!!4 points

As all have said -- You can do this, you have done so in the past. Focus on the here and now and remember that you are building for the future. You had a good quit so you know the benefits and the overall better feelings that you had, remember those and build on those. I quit a few months before you and just this last January I left the board for awhile. I saw myself becoming complacent and cigarettes were calling me back strongly, I fought hard not to start again and was able to keep my quit. I realized that I needed to come back here if nothing else for the NOPE page to keep me grounded. I am glad that you came back -- I know that you can do this -- Keep Strong!!!3 points

@Mac#23 is trying to convince me biscuits should be served with gravy. Lumpy white gravy that looks not too pleasant. Now the first issue language biscuits are what Mac calls cookies. But a friendly bit of food sledging later I had a cunning plan....why don't we swap recipes and make each other's stuff...then taste it and rate it. Then I thought that @WeegieWoman is a keen little cook...she'll might be in on this...that would give us a tri nation tournament for our cup. Australia v US v Scotland....we could invite Reci, but really what does he have to offer maple syrup and poutine. Step one...convince Weegie and Mac to play. Step b....set the rules of engagement...inc scoring system. Step iii.... select recipes...might wanna consult with your compatriots for that. Step next....make sure the others can get the ingredients in their countries. Step e.... set the date, make & rate.2 points

Yum! Biscuits and gravy is a weekend breakfast special around here! I don't make lumpy gravy tho, unless you're talking about the sausage; which is the only way to make true biscuits and gravy If you want the whole breakfast bowl experience, add a little scrambled eggs on top2 points

Ok, Jillar is on the same page now despite the edibles and Coors light. This definitely sounds like fun.2 points

I reckon all things considered you should also get a miniature pig, and a miniature goat...our Princess Maddie would love a mini menagerie and you could do real farmer walks...Oh get a couple cooks while your at it and Maddie could get the eggs each morning....you could knock up some pens and coops with your awesome skills...and we could help name all the critters (see I know the merican lingo)...go on, go on, I dare ya.2 points

Talked for a little while with a guy who started out as a professional acquaintance but has become a friend. He is a mechanic and shop owner. We send any company trucks that need repaired to him. He's a good mechanic and a great guy. He's also a smoker, a heavy smoker. Every time he would take a drag off of his cigarette, he would cough and clear his throat. Then he had a terrible coughing fit that went on for a while. He was out of breath. His face turned red. His eyes watered-up from coughing so hard. I have noticed a change in his demeanor lately. He seems tired all the time. He doesn't laugh as much as he used to and when he does laugh it sets off a coughing spell. The cigarettes are beginning to take a toll on him. He has asked me about quitting before and I was more than happy to tell him about my experience. Unfortunately, it never really took with him. His "quits" would start in the morning and be over before noon. It's a damn shame. He could quit right now, but I seriously doubt he ever will. He is beginning to feel the heavy burden of smoking and that load only gets heavier going forward. I quit four years-ago. Smoking is a distant memory and I am a bit complacent about my quit most days. However, today was a reminder of how grateful I am to have quit smoking.1 point

I was talking in another thread about my baby daughter's blossoming drumming career (banging on pots and pans with a wooden spoon). Reminded me of this song, when I was a kid this was the official Friday theme song of the Morning Zoo Crew in Chattanooga...1 point
