Layla, I would definitely change up that nighttime routine. The key is redirecting the brain. Replace those 3 cigarettes with something more relaxing or enjoyable. Maybe a cup of hot chocolate with 3 marshmellows or a hot bath with 3 capfuls of bubblebath. Switch out the bad with the good. The first month is the toughest. If you can't sleep, there are others, on the train, in different time zones. This site was my lifeline. It helped me relax and have fun. Start yourself a blog. When you can't sleep, write about you feelings. I promise you will get stronger each day. You can do this!5 points

Welcome Midmale, Congratulations on your 6 week quit. You are doing all the right things in your quit. The main one being that you choose to be a non smoker and not take one more puff. The second was coming to this site for support. There are a lot of people here in all stages of their quits. Each and everyone of them will be glad to support you in any way they can. Plus, there is a lot of articles and videos to help educate you on this addiction. So, stay safe, make smart choices and always remember the Nope pledge ( not one puff ever).5 points

Midmale, there is nothing to be afraid of. Fear should only be given to continuing on a path of self-destruction by continuing to smoke. Give yourself credit. You worked along with the Champix to achieve this goal. Depression can be a part of quitting because you are letting go of the friend you thought smoking to be. If you continue to feel down, talk to your physician. He may be able to help treat that. You will not always feel like this. With each step along this journey, you will start to become much stronger. You will be amazed at the person you will be. Hang in there and shout out if you need help. We are here to guide you.5 points

I'm late ...wrong side of the Pond ....but I see you were in great company sitting on the Train ... It takes a while to rewire our brains ...my sleep pattern was non existent, when I first quit ,I spent all night on the board reading and learning ...it soon settled down ... A Wise traveller on the Train once said to me ....... It's ok to wobble ....just make sure you don't fall over .... Change your routine before bed ....it's amazing how fast we adjust .... Great job for throwing out the cigs ....why have them lying around ...your a fabulous Non Smoker ....5 points

Mee, I absolutely love all of your ideas, especially the hot chocolate with 3 marshmallows! Thank you for the positivity! I love the idea of blogging as well!4 points

Jillar, Thanks I love watching the money saved & cigs avoided add up...a pack of cigs is so expensive in Massachusetts...it’s such a waste of money! Doreensfree, Thanks so much for your support! I am really happy I threw them out...I hope that feeling sticks...I love that advice “it’s OK to wobble, just make sure you don’t fall over”. I will repeat that to myself when the night comes!4 points

Confession: Some mornings I look in the mirror at my hair and think, it worked for Einstein why isn't it working for me. Then I think are Fruck It, what do I care if it looks like I stuck me finger in a power point, I don't have to look at it.3 points

I see voting is closed now. Did I win? Am I president now? Ran the best campaign possible, promising lots of free money to all: I'm gonna give bags of money to everyone! Yes .... Bags of Money! There'll be so much money, you won't be able to walk down the street without tripping all over it! I pandered to the feminist vote big time too, promising every lady double the cash of men! So @notsmokinjo, just let me know if I got enough votes to win. (he says as he checks his bank balance).2 points

Hi Midmale, keep digging those heels in and stay determined. Depression is common in the early stages. I cried a lot and felt a deep sense of loss. As Mee says, it is like ending a relationship with a good friend, except that friend did'nt do you any favours at all. Try and get through this any way you can, read up here, watch Joel Spitzer videos on here or youtube, they kept me going in the early days. I also found relaxing sleep music and hypnotherpy videos helped me to relax and keep focus. 6 weeks free from smoking is amazing, dont let these feelings stop your journey. They will pass and you will feel better than you have ever felt. Say strong.2 points

Well yeah, in the future don't you think edibles should be experienced while sitting to avoid this?2 points

Hi Midmale, I think you should take the credit. Champix is a tool to help you quit but it is you that is making the decision not to smoke. Keep making that decision and don't smoke! If you haven't already, you might want to read up on nicotine addiction. It will help you to see that smoking does absolutely nothing good for you. It just robs you of your money and health!! Congratulations on six weeks quit!!!2 points

Are these edibles suppose to make me hallucinate too or did I get burned?2 points

And look at all that money saved and cigs avoided in just two days Layla, that's fantastic2 points

Yes Layla! Throw them away, drown them in water and show your addiction that you're getting your life back! Also, crying is part of the recovery so you're not going crazy, it's normal. Some get irritated way easier and some emotional. I got irritated at everything lol.2 points

Birthdays are automatically added when you fill it out in your profile. I took my birth year off my profile because the calendar showed me two years older than I am, no thanks lol1 point

Layla having any cigarettes around is a recipe for disaster. I had to empty all my ashtrays out and put them away or I would smoke the butts in them when a gnarly crave hit You CAN do this, we're all proof. And every time you beat a crave it makes it easier the next time1 point
