  6. I couldn't sit through anything...a movie, a school function, dinner. Always just waiting for that break away moment to go feed my addiction. I'm so glad I don't do that crap anymore. So many pages to fill with moments I'm not missing out on...I love it! Breathe in that good air for all of us BKP...it looks beautiful!

  7. Tell us one thing you couldn't do as a smoker that you're now able to do. Me: Hiking/Backpacking. Will be heading off on a 9 day backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in a few weeks. Here's a pic along the trail. Humphrey's Basin

  12. Hi Michelle, this SOS forum is for when you feel yourself caving to a crave and need some extra support as soon as possible to help you through it. So post where you feel you need to. If it's in the wrong forum we can always move it for you. Don't be hard on yourself for wanting to smoke, it's normal to have those feelings. I did the whole first year. I also tried talking myself into the just a couple since I'm doing so good thing but knew that wouldn't happen and it wouldn't be long until I was back where I didn't want to be. Sorry about the stuff you're going through, just remember smoking won't make any of that better. And quitting will! You'll have many more employment doors open smoke free than you would smoking. And you may be already noticing how much better your circulation is. Keep telling yourself the good stuff quitting has brought

  13. IMHO , this is more than enough reason to post here. I know you're a strong fighter Michelle and I have no doubt that you will beat the urge, however posting here to initiate a communication with other members which will help to overcome the urges much easier. I've only been here a short time, but I would suggest anyone with a smoking thought to blast away with SOS posting here, even if you know you won't. Actually I find responding to these posting helps strengthen my quit. So, thanks for posting Michelle, it helps both you and me

  17. Great job Steven. Time to reward yourself for getting through hell week. Now, you're going to start to feel a little better every day. You're a non smoker now and you're going to have to act accordingly.

  18. Well, it's almost August, so I'm casting my vote for "Freedom Force." It makes me think of Yoda, "Do or do not, there is no 'try'." How many times did I say that I was "trying" to quit smoking?

  21. Congrats on 2 weeks Linda! And yes, it will get better but not magically overnight. It is a very slow process but you can make sure it happens by just sticking with nope! That's the key right there. Are you wearing the patch at night? I didn't use the patch but I have heard it can cause sleep issue for some people. Check with a pharmacist or Dr. perhaps if your sleep issues continue. Temporary sleep issues are also a pretty common quit symptom even for non-patch quitters. It will pass with time.

  22. Hello friends I'm not in danger of smoking but having some strong cravings today which is weird cuz the last few days have been a breeze. I'm firmly dedicated to NOPE but I guess I thought if I "said" (typed) this out loud it would take the power out of it. How are all of you? Anyone have anything exciting going on today? Big bunch o nothing here so let me live vicariously through you!

  23. The Quit Crusade The Anti-baccas Oh I like Anti-baccas...we could do a Chewie inspired banner...and it works for our non smoking quitters.

  26. I remember that I made my first post on a former quit site on day 12, and you sound much more sane than I was feeling that day. So big congratulations to you as watch your days adding up and the rewards beginning to appear. Great job, Linda!

  27. Trail running. When I was a smoker, the only time I would consider running was if I was being chased by a hungry bear or an angry woman. Now, I go out in the woods and run for the fun of it. Well...not right now. With a month old baby, I can't be out dicking around in the woods all day. But...I have every intention of getting back out on the trails in the Fall.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
