  4. I strongly believe that one of the key success for quitting is the Attitude. All smokers of any type (cig, chewing, vaping, etc.) are Nicotine addicts. Quitting means you ARE getting your FREEDOM back, NO more worry about running out of tobacco, NO more worry about having to feed the addiction every few hours. I tried to look at my quit from the bright side: I'm battling with the addiction for a few weeks to get my LIFE back, and it's the best decision I've made for myself. So, Embrace your freedom, be proud that you're kicking the addiction in the butt, and you'll find it's not really that shitty to overcome the cravings.

  9. Planning my second trip to an amusement park. My first trip was this past Tuesday, 07/14. I had an absolute blast! I'm not much of a crier but doing something that made my life feel normal brought me to tears. Masks are mandatory and social distancing is enforced. Rides are cleaned every 1/2 hour. I stay out of buildings except restrooms which I make it quick. I know there is some risk involved but I love summer so much and want at least a couple activities to make it a little bit fun.

  14. thank you. Part of me still misses it. I hope that that goes away soon. I remind myself that I'm not missing it but just wanting to do an action that I have done for over half my life. That will go away. I have saved $374.64, I will live 7 days 8 hours and 6 minutes longer (barring any sort of tragedy) and not smoked 960.6 cigarettes. Iv'e never done that before.

  15. idontsmoke, good luck on your surgery. I am so glad you are doing so well with your quit and am sure your recovery will be much more improved.

  16. Good luck on your surgery @idontsmoke! I once had a surgery where the surgeon wouldn't do it unless I was quit for two full months minimum. He said that it would be too risky because smokers don't heal as well as non-smokers. It's what "inspired" my cold turkey quit a number of years ago.

  23. The covid-19 test nasal swap is NOT a peice of cake! I had to get one a couple hours ago to get cleared for my shoulder surgery Friday. It was not my favorite. On the topic of surgery, I've had way more orthopedic surgeries than I care to remember in recent years but this will be the first one nicotine free. I'm excited to see the difference in healing time and respiratory recovery. I hope everyone is having a super dee dooper day!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
