  5. The covid-19 test nasal swap is NOT a peice of cake! I had to get one a couple hours ago to get cleared for my shoulder surgery Friday. It was not my favorite. On the topic of surgery, I've had way more orthopedic surgeries than I care to remember in recent years but this will be the first one nicotine free. I'm excited to see the difference in healing time and respiratory recovery. I hope everyone is having a super dee dooper day!

  11. Good luck on your surgery @idontsmoke! I once had a surgery where the surgeon wouldn't do it unless I was quit for two full months minimum. He said that it would be too risky because smokers don't heal as well as non-smokers. It's what "inspired" my cold turkey quit a number of years ago.

  22. 30 days without a cigarette. 1 whole month. Feel odd pangs at times of *not wanting* a cigarette but looking for them like a thing I used to do. Really weird. LIke a need I need to fulfill. Catch myself at times reminiscing and I remind myself that I don't want to go back there. The 3 D's: Distract, Delay and Drink water. One day at a time.

  30. Best baked wings ever! You will swear they were fried (can also be done in air fryer) Nancy’s Wings 20-30 wing pieces (drums and flats) Food City will cut up the whole wings for you. Pat them semi-dry. 4 tablespoons baking powder (no aluminum) 2 teaspoons sriracha powder 2 teaspoons smoked paprika 2 teaspoons KOSHER salt Preheat oven to 425. Line baking pan with aluminum foil. Add baking rack and spray will with non-stick spray. Mix dry ingredients Put 10-15 wing pieces in bowl. Sprinkle with ¼ of dry mixture and toss. Add additional ¼ and toss, again. Repeat with additional 10-15 (I usually toss in two batches because it is easier) Cook for 20 minutes and flip. Cook for 20 minutes and flip. Cook for an additional 15- 20 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
