  1. NOPE. Taking a small road trip from east coast Florida to the gulf to do a little fishing today. Hope everyone has a great day NOPE'ING through today.
  2. NOPE....during the past week I didn't believe I'd make it but thanks to all of you, it will be two weeks tomorrow!
  3. I was scheduled to finish an 8-week program with the patch this Wednesday, 06/17. I decided to start early because if I face withdrawal, I don't want the worst days to be on the weekend. So I ripped the patch off yesterday at noon. I have one day and almost three hours patch-free. I feel pretty good so maybe it's going to be a non-event. Fingers crossed!!!
  4. Most stuff is now opened, except the boarders between most of the states. Looks like they'll reopen next month unless there is a second wave. Most of our new cases are from overseas travellers in quarantine...although we are expecting a post protest spike in the next week or so. @johnny5...keeping you and your grandma in my thoughts.
  5. Good day for a NOPE!
  6. G’day NOPE .....Not One Puff Ever.... (replace Ever with Min Hour Day as required!)
  7. NOPE - Not One Puff Ever
  8. Let me go find the band. I am so happy for you, Mona ! Throughout our lives we may have triggers or urges or thoughts about nicotine but, we now know how to NOPE our ways through them. That is all it is, vigilance and maintenance. You are a FREE person now. FREE. FREE. FREE. Celebrate wildly.
  9. Congratulations Mona, another day and a half and the nicotine will mostly be out of your system. You got this! 😊
  10. Great job, Mona. No need to cross your fingers. Staying nicotine free is definitely doable and is worth any struggles. You can do this!
  11. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. You can do this Mona. Just remember to take a deep breath I like to sound out NOPE for each half. I think that is why it works. Because as we repeat it whether we say NOPE or we say Not One Puff Ever. We take back control and those urges and craves will become less and less. Most times I don't even acknowledge the craves/urges,
  13. Duh! There’s no disputing the science. Of course smoking may kill you over the course of time. Cancer, heart disease, COPD are a few of the ways smoking may eventually do you in. But you might not have to wait years or decades for those outcomes. You may be killed much quicker simply because the act of smoking causes you to touch your face significantly more than a non-smoker. “University of New South Wales professor of respiratory medicine Christine Jenkins says smokers may be more vulnerable [to contracting COVID-19] because of the number of times they touch their mouths and inhale repeatedly.” Whether it be slow or fast, the result is bleak. You know the solution….quit now!
  14. G’day NOPE .....Not One Puff Ever.... (replace Ever with Min Hour Day as required!)
  15. Same around here. The home my mother in law was in lost 50% of their residents back in March. She already passed a couple years ago but it's scary for sure. The outbreaks here opened up a can of worms because the level of care was discovered to be ...... well ..... let's just say less than acceptable 😞 Hope your Grandmother is OK and they nip the issue in the bud at her home Johnny! We still can't do jack around here. Guess the only thing I miss is getting together with family members who don't live with us and maybe taking off for a small road trip to another Province but all that is still not allowed yet. Soon maybe .... soon?
  16. That's great Mona. One day at a time........
  17. Way to go Mona .... I know you can do this ....upwards and onwards ....
  18. I agree Jill....I'm just waiting a few weeks to see what happens in the UK ... All these protesters ...and alot of stuff opening ...I'm just sitting off ..... People now want the 2 metres scrapped to 1 ....now crazy ... In some parts of the country the number is still high ...
  19. I have my days so now that I know that about you are you ok with your call going to voicemail?
  20. We could learn something from you @reciprocity. Cases are going up all over the world because of reopening too soon. So be glad that Canada is being more strict. I wish California would be. I can't believe with cases rising daily that our county would go ahead with reopening bars. There's no way to keep a room full of drunks social distanced I guess we'll see the ramifications of those actions in about ten days or so.... 😞
  21. I have crushes on everybody, just like in real life. bakon has tried to lay a sobriquet on me but nothing has stuck. just like in real life. I have been very impressed with Mee and MLMR on their transformations from smokers to free women. Quantum leaps they have negotiated with a lot of grace. I am impressed with everyone who walks this walk. Babs always ripped her hosiery in bacon's back seat and left unmentionables behind. Well, not to single her out. All the eggs are guilty of that. Lots of babies have been born from smoke free parents. Leanna, Sarah, Action, Aruba, soon Boo. There are more, I am forgetting. We are a fertile bunch. Do you remember the Man Cave that the chicks took over ? I think we burned it down by accident. Something about a cleaning lady with fire. Where is that thread, so full of mirth ? Funny, the Sticks of the Day started out as hard bodies and quickly degenerated into phallic symbols of humor. We've got some really funny Chicks on QTrain. Chicks of the Day died, y'all get tired of air-brushed bodies and fake bosoms? tee hee hee. Sometimes I will find a thread where a now successful quitter expressed doubt or concern. These are so poignant. We come so far on this journey and leave so much doubt and fear behind.
  22. Posted March 23, 2016 Ok....let's get back to business... This time I've got it right... Here in the UK ,we know a thing or two about royal weddings... Still waiting for another ...!!!!!.....any offers ????..... Rez stole one of your eggs ..right from under your nose .lol...
  23. Can you believe it's at the current place? It will be easier for my roommates widow to sell the house with the deck redone.
  24. 1 point
I just open the door for sleepwalkers and let them out
  25. Is this how you treat all your friends?
  26. International curvy hoes
  27. Hey y'all ! would you let me out of The Fun Room ? The sticks locked the door by mistake and I've been here what seems like days. Thanks, in advance.
  28. Hey, good luck tomorrow, @Mac#23. I have every confidence in you and send you wind for your sails. I spent too long setting up a still life photo for a new study, future painting. But, it is just a sort of joke-y thing punning on Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries (please give a listen) with Bowls Of Cherry
  29. Lol.....I see I'm not the only Horney Toad around here !!!
  30. I think everyone is different. I smoked most all of my adult life except for a few years in my thirties and although I don`t feel the craves 3 years plus down the road I can`t say that it has not crossed my mind a couple times. An addict is an addict. Perhaps I could smoke only one and walk away from it for 3 more years. I won`t take that chance. It gets better and I think most of us with a few years under our belt realize we will always be recovering addicts.
  31. I am still a nicotine addict and always will be. There is no erasing addiction. You can and will get to a point where you live very comfortably without feeding your addiction but as addicts, we never can reset our brains to forgetting about addiction. That's why we must adhere to the NOPE principal for the rest of our lives. That may sound daunting to some but it's not! The key is abstaining from smoking while you educate yourself about nicotine addiction. Knowledge helps one understand that smoking .... feeding our addiction to nicotine, does nothing good for us - nothing! That's the place we need to get to where our addiction is no longer a threat to us!
  32. Crockpot Roast any piece of meat 1 or 2 packets of Onion soup mix depending on quantity of meat 1/4-1/2 cup water (more if using lean meat) place meat in crockpot, add water, sprinkle onion soup mix over top. Cover, cook on low until fork tender. I like to cook on high for about an hour or two before turning down to low.
