  2. hello good people.this is my 30 seconds day without a cigarette. Life is good. I used to have Graves disease and that would affect my lungs and make my heart go into AFib (atrial fibrillation) amazing how my health is being restored. it's all gone no more medication. Why would I ever want to go back to smoking now .it would be insane and I would rather maintain my sanity. Believe you me, that is one strong deterrent. This is what happens to me after not smoking for 32 days . Life is good now. I was under a lot of stress at work yesterday and I managed to get through it the thought of a smoking a cigarette didn't even enter my mind, what is happening.it is so nice to sit down relax and take a real breath and contemplate and say to myself ,I think I have this now. although I must always remember that it is up there that nasty addiction. It is working lurking and sneaking about .and trying to find a way in, triggers reasons and queues. I must be very aware and remember and be conscience at all times. it's always trying to find a way in. But the gates of hell are closed. It's a one-way ticket no money back. Just for today. I will concentrate on my abstinence on my abstinence wholeheartedly and let no doubt or skepticism enter my mind .I will seek the truth and be honest with myself on a daily basis. I can only do my best ,no more fear about people places and things these are my thoughts for today. Thank you good people at the quit train where we have everything to gain.

  4. Great post Joe ... The benefits of quitting keep on getting better and better ...I don't think we as smokers took in exactly how every part of our body was effected ... I still get a big buzz of how good I feel now, after smoking 52 years ... Let the miracle happen Joe ....

  5. We have had steady drizzle over the last 8 hours, HOW GOOD IS THAT. My garden is now on my to do list, "I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of droughts and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, etc) Poem by Dorothy Mackellar. If she was alive today the flooding rains would definitely be out of the picture maybe some other words like parched dry barren cracked shrivelled useless, unforgiving, desolate, burnt-to-a-crisp would be on the agenda. We might write something with these words included. Come on Aussies lets do the poem.

  20. We are a land of extremes.... its drought or flood, very rarely anything in between... at least that's the case for my 43 years. I hope you mob up North (including Our Doreen's Nicky) cop what we had last night... Melbourne was smashed with a 6 hour thunderstorm... yes 6 hours of thunder, may have been more but I fell asleep. Which included 2 huge down pour, my area got 38mm in 20 minutes. The suburb 3 over got 66mm in 35 mins, which is a whole month of rain in less than an hour. The wetlands looked magnificent this morning. So the wetlands near me are a breeding ground for the Bin Chickens... but they have been awol with all the smoke, not sure where they have buggered off too. Si we have a few days reprieve from the smoke but are expecting it to kick up again on the weekend.

  31. Weedy was crocheted. I crochet (blankets), lovely in winter to do on the train, and I was crocheting on the train one morning and the young girl opposite (who was from India) said, "Oh, Indian knitting I have not seen that since my grandma passed".... so then we chatted until my stop.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
