  1. Day 3 and I'm still OK. I think because I've seen the light re: my circulation, it's making it easier than if I just 'wanted' to give up,

  2. We have been putting poison in our bodies 20 times a day for decades.... It's no wonder are poor bodies go hay wire....for a while ....we are all different ,and the healing process is different to each person too... This is why the one day at a time is so important.....it can change from day to day .... Your doing great .....

  3. There is NO craving that is too big to defeat, when you are committed to NOPE! There's tough ones for sure but YOU are always completely in control and therefore only you can determine the outcome here. We have all faced adversity in our quits and have dug deep to defeat them so take heart ..... quitting is totally doable

  5. A lot of what you are going through is normal. There will be some weird feelings like this but that is your body adjusting to life without the poison of nicotine. You will start to see a lot of improvements to your overall health as time goes on. You are doing a great thing. Keep up the awesome work.

  6. Just got home from work and it went very well. I've felt tired which surprised me as I would have thought I'd be full of beans. Maybe it's just a coincidence and I've been tired for another reason. It's weird how it just clicked with me after seeing the vascular nurse on the 22nd. I'm sure all of us have always been fully aware of the damage caused but carried on smoking nonetheless until we saw our individual 'light.' It's going good and I haven't had any mega cravings so far.

  9. Congratulations on your quit, mightyboosh. Soon, most all the nicotine will be gone from your body. The exhaustion doesn't last long and not everyone experiences tiredness. It is good you are communicating what you are experiencing, this helps us know where you're at and is also a road map for other quitters. Keep a close eye on your blood sugar and drink a good pure fruit juice (one w/out corn syrup or other added sugars). If you start to feel tired and hazy for a while, don't worry it will pass, it is just The Great Smoke Free Mental Fog and be sure to reward yourself for every crave or trigger you conquer. You will never/ever have to go through this again.

  10. Feeling very tired was a surprise to me also, kind of caught me of guard but I used to my advantage. You are spot on about seeing "our individual light. The same thing happened to me and what my nurse and doctor were saying finally hit home -- took me too many years to see but I finally did see and things are better now. Keep strong!!!!

  30. I'm painting one bathroom wall where I ripped out the STUPID toilet paper holder and made a big hole which I mended also. I had no wine, no nap and the painters tape took off paint where it should not have. So, I am nailing up a piece of trim like a picture rail to hide the mistake. That was earlier while waiting for fcuking handy man to show up. He did not and was fired. That is two in two weeks. I should be on the cursing thread.

  31. Hello everyone. Just wanted to do a quick message here alerting everyone that WhyQuit.com seems to be offline. Not sure what the problem is yet but it has been down since last night. Not sure what the problem is yet. I know that a few members and moderators here often direct people to articles and videos from WhyQuit.com. I have a partial backup way of getting to most articles and video pages. For the normal Joels-videos index page, use this link: http://joelspitzer.com/joels-videos/ For most of the articles use this link: http://joelspitzer.com/ntapletters/#articles The formatting will be off and some of the links inside those pages won’t work because they point back to whyquit.com but the videos and the articles on those pages are there. If nothing else, you could copy and paste the full article you need to address a topic. One more trick that will get you a little more information. On the links that don’t work on the pages usually under “additional resources”, it is because they still link to whyquit.com. An example, the page from the other day on supercharging nicotine’s addictive potential ( http://joelspitzer.com/joels-videos/supercharging-nicotines-addictive-potential/ ) the first link under additional resources won’t work: https://whyquit.com/joels-videos/additive-free-cigarettes/ That is because the URL for the page begins with "https://whyquit.com” If you replace the "https://whyquit.com” with “joelspitzer.com”, so the address then becomes http://joelspitzer.com/joels-videos/additive-free-cigarettes/ you will get access to the backup page. You don’t need to type the “http://" before “joelspitzer.com”. If you accidentally type “https://” instead of just “http://“ (adding an “s”) the page won’t load. Sorry I know its a bit confusing but it works. Hopefully this will help until the site is up again. If you have any question or problem finding a page or video feel free to message me and I will send you the correct links. Sorry for any inconvenience. Joel

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
