Man I just barely survived yesyerday, the craving was almost fatal feeling. Heavy chest, panic feeling, glom and dome ! Seems come April 5th I will be in the company of the unemployeed in California, turning 60 This month it really sent me spirolling out of control. Yesterday after waking up and finding out it was not a bad dream the stress started to build. Up dating my resume, filling out Apps, searching and the gloom continued to build, the want and NEED for a smoke was growwing. It got so bad at one point I remembered where a 10 dollar cigar was ! All sealed in its glass Tube as fresh as the day it was rolled. Baby, BABy ! I called and my wife came into the room, There is a cigar on My rifle rack go get it crush it and toss it in the Garbage Please, and without a word she complied. Thank you LORD Thank you. Well it was not all bad news yesterday, I received a call about one of the Apps I filled out, a Interview ! YES ! Thats what I needed, I need to be reafirmed that I was still a marketable Item, That My Trade skills, knowledge and training were still a vital asset. So the first Interview is set for Tuesday 10am, now the research starts.5 points

Yes the demon spawn confessed to me tonight... was going to NOPE about it tomorrow.... little treasure didn't like the meal options offered on Tuesday so told me it was Pancake Tuesday and I just ran with it.... way too many balls in the air at the moment to even look at a calendar and check and have missed mass for the last few weeks..... I was going to claim that Australia really is in the future.... a whole month!!.... sorry for anyone I stressed.5 points

Morning NOPErs...to day is Ash Wednesday... The day of atonement and the beginning of Lent. So here is a suggestion for all the Christians out there, it's Lent boys and girls, why not give up the smokes for Lent?....it's 40 days which will see you through your first month anniversary.. and you will have all of us here to support you on your way...use you faith to help you give yourself the greatest gift you ever will. So for those of you not in the know today is supposed to be fast day, now speaking from the Catholic perspective, that means a fish day... So considering most of you lot are in the middle of winter maybe a nice Mornay will be the ticket. Have you ever wondered where the ashes come from they are made by burning the palm fronds that were blessed and used in the previous years Palm Sunday service. NOPE.... Never, ever, forever5 points

Congratulations @Jayhawk for being 7 months smoke free. Well done, and Hugh Millen can just move over, its seems the Pats have a new star wearing a 7. Congrats also on having a smoke free Super Bowl win I bet that made it doubly fine. So make sure you do something special to celebrate because you deserve it.4 points

I know quitting smoking is far easier than living with perpetual slavery, slow suicide or gruesome death but, quitting actually IS pretty easy. Sure, it took me about a year to navigate my way through de-tox, craves, and triggers but, that is short time considering the 40 something years I spent establishing my addiction. The body heals so quickly, the mind shifts to a new consciousness. I'm not saying it was a cakewalk into town, it took determination and focus, sometimes it took ALL I had but, it wasn't THAT hard. I beat every damn crave. It didn't hurt and the rewards came fast and furious. I am not making light of the struggle although retrospect is forgiving and kind. Still, even while in the thick of it, I knew it was temporary. I knew I was going to succeed. I never gave myself an opportunity to fail.4 points

Oh dear ! @jillar ! I lost count of how long I was ill but it's been WEEKS. Now, walking on eggshells and trying not to do too much (not that I have a plethora of energy anyway). So sorry you are still ailing. Tons of Vit C, B and zinc plus gargling with salt water/peroxide (3 to 1) pushed me out of re-infecting myself. All that and REST. zzzzzzzzzzzzz2 points
