  15. @Christa326 two months in the pocket, congratulations! Well done and from what you wrote, easier than you anticipated, right? ? So tell us, how does it feel and what did you do to celebrate this awesome kickstart?

  16. Packing to take off for a week in the motorhome. Weather looks cold and we are going to freeze our little behinds off. I will need some good vibes. I am the worst back seat driver and, of course, know that I am the best driver of the two. ? Now he has this contraption to pull the car behind the RV and wants me to get used to pulling that! I do feel solid in my quit but need the vibes for my husband. He needs to learn to sit back and realize that his wife is always right!? Will keep in touch if we are in the internet range.

  17. Thanks for the posts and the cake is making me drool. I slept through most of Day 1 but made it into Day 2. I feel completely out of it. If you've ever had an operation you will know that awful feeling as you come round. I feel like that every minute. I don't know if I'm capable of putting my own shoes on the right feet this morning. Today I'm off for my birthday so won't post again until Monday. Have a lovely weekend everyone. ?

  18. Thanks for the support! Means a lot. Cold outside tonight. Looking forward to a winter where I don't need to take breaks outside.

  20. Her idea of the charm bracelet was fabulous Anything you can use to encourage yourself to quit and stay quit is well worth what ever effort it requires! Your addiction will try it's best to defeat your efforts once you quit so you have to outsmart the addiction. It's totally possible using tools such as Lilly has done

  21. My power just came back on about an hour ago. There were a lot of trees down but nothing like what you guys saw. I used to live in Greensboro. It seemed like the damage was worse in NC the further west you went.

  22. @MLMR THANK YOU!!! I really appreciate this! I haven't done anything really yet to celebrate this success......the weekend is here! Maybe a delicious meal! No drinks...we had our 25th anniversary party at the office and i had enough of those on Wednesday haha (and made it without a smoke!!! I used to smoke SOOO much if i drank!) and yes, this is much easier than anticipated bc i feel physically better

  24. WOW!! I'm totally--and not fashionably--late to my party! I can't believe it's been six months. That feels really substantial. Thank you all for the kind thoughts. I don't get on board the train as much lately but I'm so totally grateful to all of you and this site. I NOPE in my head daily if not on here. My quit is going well and it's both a blessing to have forgotten my quitversary and a reminder that i must take care of my quit and not take it for granted. There are so many times when I think briefly about smoking or some habit like leaving the house and thinking, "I forgot my cigarettes." Those thoughts pass easily now but I know it's possible that one day I could let my guard down and think it might be OK to "have just one" and that would be devastating. So I am remaining vigilant and reminding myself that Not One Puff Ever is a verb not a noun. I told my daughter about how I still think sometimes about smoking and she said that's OK as long as i dont' do it. True. It's also OK if i have those thoughts, maybe for the rest of my life...as long as I don't smoke. I am LOVING this quit.

  26. Great job, Lilly. Keep up the good cheer and keep reading, writing, snacking and napping! Napping was my go-to activity the first few days, which isn't as rewarding if you're an insomniac like me, but being able to sleep away even a few of the early minutes helped them add up a little faster. You'll be well rested for your big birthday celebration weekend. Early Happy Birthday to you!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
