Hi new members we're so glad you've decided to quit smoking. The first few months can be pretty hard for some of us and a great tool I used was getting a quit buddy. Or a few buddies. I found my best buddies quit in the same year as me so we were all in it together. All for one and one for all. But there is also a lot of longer quitters who would gladly be a buddy. It kept me accountable simply because I didn't want to be the one out of us who failed. I wanted to be a 2016 butt kicker! So even if you're not comfortable posting to all of us, reach out to someone to help keep you accountable. It doesn't matter how many years or days quit they are. Take a second and pm them. You may just find your quit buddy9 points

Good morning NOPErs welcome to International Lefthanders Day. For 42 years, the 13th of August has been the day to recognise the struggles and celebrate the differences of the 10 percent of the population who are lefties, or southpaws, or goofyfooters or as they are in my neck of the woods molly dookers. So for all he kids who just couldn't do scissors in school well done for mastering that skill. So some famous lefties include Ned Flanders, Oprah, Babe Ruth, Brian Lara, Bill Gates, Marie Currie, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and our very own bunny, Jillar. So to @jillar and all the other lefties on the QT... have a happy international lefties day. Fun Fact Lefty Facts: (cos the nope pics weren't happening) 1. A Lefty who quits is 95% more likely to live a longer life than a righty who doesn't. 2. American politics has taken a distinct shift to the left in recent years, with 66% of recent presidents being lefties... thats Reagan, the first Bush, Clinton & Obama. Prior to Reagan only 4 presidents were lefties. 3. Left Handed Golf Clubs cost up to 200% more than right handed ones. 5. Cort Guitars only make left handed guitars 3 times a year. NOPE... cos I deserve to be smoke free even if I'm right handed8 points

Good morning my fellow NOPErs... today is International Elephant Day, a day to celebrate these beautiful animals who demonstrate the finest of human traits, intelligence, family orientated, great memories, a wide range and depth of emotions, empathy and stunning self-awareness. The create complex, supportive societies.... but the way we treat them shows the worst of human behaviour. So in many ways we should all be more like elephants... ok so, because they have awesome memories and would never forget to NOPE.... not that they would be silly enough to smoke in the first place... lets just see what they say.. Will you have a puff today? NOPE ... cos nothing controls me but me. topic of the day: Sundee Slang Fest5 points

So keep on keeping on..? Oh and I fashioned you a wee cake. Now I know you do the crickety thingy so I made a crickety cake but not got a clue where I should plonk you so I reckoned you would probably be good at inspecting the pitch ??4 points

Here's one that I would consider a prerequisite for a playlist of Elvis covers. I've probably already mentioned this but...Margo Timmins is one of my favorite singers of all time.2 points

Same here. My eyes were almost always red and dry when I smoked. Of course I would blame it on my contact lenses or the catch-all category of allergies. Then I quit smoking and my eyes cleared up. In fact...a lot of issues just "cleared up" after I quit smoking.2 points
