  1. I may rave, I may rant, Some bad words I may fervently chant, I may kick, I may mope But when someone offers me a smoke, I'll say "NOPE" I may argue, I may leave Can't get my guard down, I truly believe I will find a billion ways to cope But when someone offers me a smoke, I'll say "NOPE" It's not that I didn't know the harmful effects, It's just that I chose to ignore And even if I am at the end of my rope, If someone offers me a smoke, I'll say "NOPE"

  5. Morning NOPErs... just like every friday its POETS day... but it is also International Lions Day... it is Duran Duran Appreciation Day too but I'm pretty sure the only one who still appreciates them is Sslip... So International Lions Day is not to celebrate the some obscure Rugby Team... but to celebrate the majestic lion and bring awareness to its dwindling numbers. NOPE ... cos I deserve to be smoke free.

  9. There are a ton of positive changes I've seen but the surprising one to me was how much better I felt about myself. My pride and self-esteem got a huge boost knowing that I was able to successfully make such a challenging but rewarding life change like quitting smoking.

  12. Thank you so much Linda. You are in the early days right now and it can feel like every waking moment is occupied by thoughts of smoking. I promise you that it will get better. For me it has been gradual and day to day I don't necessarily notice how much it changes, but when I look back on early posts, I now can't believe how far I've come. You're doing great and on track. Stay strong.

  13. The benefits of quitting added up in such a way, with every benefit having a carryover effect, that the process has improved every facet of my life.

  16. I would certainly advise anyone with shoulder issues looking to add any of these movements to start slow and always err on the side of caution. If in doubt, go lighter. This routine is not about getting "ripped", "shredded", or "jacked." And the mantra "no pain, no gain" does not apply here. Leave all that nonsense to the "fitness personalities" on social media.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
