  1. Welcome to another Sunday of NOPE and what a great place to be. Today is a big day in Sport with both the Wimbledon Men's final and the World Cup Soccer final... so if you're going for France or Croatia or you're going for Anderson or Djokovic I hope you get the result you want. So... for yesterdays missed opportunity to give the French a Shout Out for Bastille Day.... I hope they had a good one and that the air forces error with the flag colours isn't an omen for the soccer. NOPE ... cos nothing controls my life but me! Topic of the day: Sundee Slang Spectacular

  8. Oh, gee I almost forgot that it was Bastille Day and therefore another quit smoking anniversary for me. Thanks to everyone joining this quittrain celebration. I hardly ever think of smoking nowadays. It turned out to be a lot easier to quit than I had always imagined once I got into the right frame of mind and had support, including online support that was so important.

  9. So I've been awol from the NOPE but its nothing to be worried about I have been NOPEing, just not in the thread because its been a rough couple of days...and technically its the 15th in Aus but the 14th is Mac n Cheese day... I think I like this a little bit more than pizza but that's only because of bacon... of course the kid loves it... so in honor of Mac n Cheese day I made a big tray... and she knew it was coming.... but what did she do?... she went out for dinner with her dad. So now I have a huge tray of mac n cheese and I think I'll feed it to the dogs. So... to smoking i say NOPE...

Its so great to have you still around the boards for us newbies coming up behind you. So for your Lido Threepete make sure you do something super special to spoil yourself because you deserve it.

  14. And the best bit about voting day.... well its not the queues that's for sure... but the sausage sizzle, hell yeah... who doesn't love the opportunity to by a sausage in bread with sauce and fried onions for $2.50 ($2 without onion)? ^^ 100% true... I have been known to go to the hardware store on the weekend just to get a snag from the sausage sizzle.

  16. That first year is not easy. Each season, each holiday, each event in the course of a year as it rolls by, will serve as triggers. You may not even recognise the trigger but its there in the blossoms appearing the coming of spring, the ground warming up to tell us summer is coming, the chill in the air to herald winter, your birthday, your sisters birthday, an anniversary, Xmas, Easter ..... That's why its so important people commit to the boards for a full year at least. I quit in April. 8 months later, I was triggered by Christmas Day so hard I wanted to cry. watching family members go down the end of the garden smoking and drinking wine in the sun, laughing and having fun. Arghhh that was not easy. But I survived. Stevie Nicks concert at 2 years I told my sister she was 'lucky she could smoke' on the steps after the concert. Weird! Oh and the Halloween part where I'm dressed up as a cat where I thought the only way to complete my fun was to have a cigarette. wtf? I think I have a very strong quit (as do you Jo) but those triggers scared me for the brief time they lasted. You just get through each crave doing what you do.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
