Well this place has changed a lot since the last time I was here!! I don't know if anyone will remember me. I haven't been on of ages, but I have now hit four years smoke free. Well, in April anyway! Lol. I just felt I would like to post. For anyone out there that are going through the quitting process now. It is soo worth it. Four years on. I have no interest in smoking. Nothing at all. I use to smoking 30 a day and started when I was 16. I'm now 43 just. I never thought I could quit, but places like this are a life saver, no way would I have managed to if it wasn't from the support of people that had gone through it before me, and they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. Seriously though. Do this, do it now. There is life after smoking, a better life too. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get there ?
  4. Good morning to me lovely fellow NOPErs and welcome to Hump Day. Well today sees us with a choice of celebration Garden Exercise Day & Applesauce Cake Day.... hmmm... not really into the gardening but have a bag of grannies i could sauce and bake so it seems I'll be Applesauce Caking. OH, incase they don't have em where you live, grannies are not little old ladies who spoil you they are Granny Smith Apples... cos its not Hannibal Lector cake day. So... to excercising by gardening and destroying my lungs I say NOPE ... not on a day ending in y. Topic of the day: Keeping it as Secret Pleasure Songs
  5. After 5 months of NOPEing I think I will start off my sixth month by saying NOPE today-- why not it seems to be working!!!!!
  6. Gday NOPE starts today C
  7. Morning to the Nopiest nopey peeps I know. Today is World Environment Day and this years theme is Plastic Pollution with a logo of If you can't reuse it, refuse it! ... . So to a world polluted by plastic and to lungs polluted by smoke and tar I say NOPE not today, not tomorrow, not ever - forever! TOPIC of the Day: Secret Pleasure Songs (yep its a re-boot but it was funny the first time and its been a while and isn't world environment day the best time to recycle)

Luck has nothing to do with it. Either you smoke or you don't smoke. It's not luck that you don't poke yourself in the eye when you're eating a salad. You just don't do it. It's not luck that you don't wear your shoes on your hands when you get dressed in the morning. You just don't do it. "I'm going downstairs now! I hope I don't fall. Wish me luck!" Sounds kinda silly, no? Now if you stop taking birth control, I'll wish you luck that you don't get knocked up, but as for smoking, I won't wish you luck, because you don't need it. Be strong and don't smoke. That's really all there is to it.
  11. Congratulations @Octain for being 5 months smoke free. You have definitely set up a solid foundation for your quit and from your daily Nope to the support you offer its clear your work is paying off. SO clearly you have not been spending too much time in the past 5 months making paper planes as you have this quitting thing well under control. Well done and make sure you do something special to celebrate and reward yourself (besides dental visits).
  12. I was close to the edge, but backed away.

I found that in the end, my failures contributed to my understanding of how I was going to just need to "dig in" and wade through the feelings. After 3 days, the nicotine is out of your system. Then you're into a battle of habit. So don't be downhearted by your failures but use them to reinforce your current mindset. You need to switch up your inner chit chat too - try, guess...these words are not a quitters friend because we mentally give ourself "an out". So change you self pep talk and you'll gain a lot more power over your mind, which is ultimately the only thing stopping or starting you smoking. Remember always, we have a choice, we make the choice to smoke or not smoke. So I won't wish you luck, I'll do better than that for you - I'll wish you the mental strength to beat this addiction. xx
  14. Thinking if I was a snowman I'd be fecked by now....!!!!! It's too hot to work ... It's too hot to walk.. And it sure as hell is too hot to sit on a train with smelly, stinky, sweaty people!! That's it I've had enough.. I'm bringing out the tuna pasta people....??

  16. ^^^ WOOHOO.... Roz in da house... @Rozuki hope ya going well lovely lady.
  17. Thanks everyone! What a great day. It truly does get easier. I’m not gonna lie though, it would only take one puff. Cigarettes did nothing for me. They take away my time, my money and my health.
  18. Well considering I have a kid I'm fairly sure there was no cherries on offer? (do cherries mean the same thing up north???) Oh did I not mention Shane wouldn't take off his full batting kit?
  19. How big was the bloody bed..??
  20. I don't know, shall we ask Jo what was on offer..?
  21. Do you think I would have got the strawberry if there were any cherries to be had?
