  3. Thanks for all the advice. You guys are so right. I have a new resolution to keep my mouth shut! I hate that holier-than-thou feeling and the way that words sound coming out of my mouth from this higher ground place.... I tell her it's just because I care about her... But it still makes her feel terrible and starts a fight. No more nagging, no more shaming

  6. Good morning and welcome to another work week me lovely fellow NOPErs. Today our lovely American friends give us Hug Your Cat Day.. so I have a few issues with this, my digs tend to get rather upset if I hug the cats and not them especially Fat Boy, and a sooky 40kg puppy who wants to sit on your lap and cries if he can't is not much fun, then I have one cat who tends to bite when cuddled, hard and the other one turns into a furry shredding machine so I'll give them an extra pat but will hug the dogs instead. So if ya have a cat, that isn't psycho like mine give it a hug, but if you don't hug ya dog, or ya bunny or ya frog.... "Come on mate, give us a hug..." NOPE ... no, nay, never! Topic of the Day: TBA in the northy morning.

TOPIC of the Day: Secret Pleasure Songs (yep its a re-boot but it was funny the first time and its been a while and isn't world environment day the best time to recycle)

  22. My boyfriend keeps "sneaking" out for a smoke. I realize it's just a matter of me and me alone, and my willpower. I will never quit if I wait for a perfect time. Just deal with what I have before me.

  23. This is the issue; straight up junkie thinking which rationalizes making unwise choices. Being rational isn't going to get through to her but what will is your silence. Set the example by your actions because they always speak louder than words and also show truth. Great job on making the right choice to not smoke!

  25. Ren -- can't add much more. Just remember to focus on your quit and that you can get by not smoking in any situation and hope that you set the example and part of that is not to chastise too much. Just hope that your partner can see how much better you are doing.

  26. Ren... You have had great advice..I carnt add much more... Keep your side of the street clean...in other words...you cannot tell another person what they can do... All you can do is guard your precious quit with your life...and hopefully your partner ..when they are ready will join you... Deep down ..even if they dont admit it.they would love to be in your shoes....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
